World gold price today June 3, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 p.m. on June 3, Vietnam time, was 3,361.97 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 10.2 USD/ounce compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,230 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 110.27 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 8.1 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
World gold prices have fallen slightly after a sharp increase this morning. However, the overall trend is still up, mainly due to the slight recovery of the USD, causing gold prices, which often fluctuate in opposite directions, to be under downward pressure. The instability in trade relations between the US and China continues to make investors cautious, thereby helping gold not fall too far.
Specifically, spot gold prices increased by 0.3%, after reaching their highest level since May 8. US gold futures also decreased by 0.2%, to 3,390 USD/ounce. Previously on June 2, gold prices increased sharply by 2.7%, the strongest increase in more than three weeks.
Brian Lan, CEO of GoldSilver Central in Singapore, said gold prices are inversely correlated to the US dollar. When the dollar recovers, gold will be corrected. However, investors are still closely following global trade developments, and their current withdrawal from gold is not as significant as in the past.
The US dollar index has recovered slightly after hitting a six-week low. But trade uncertainty remains. The US government announced that President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are likely to speak by phone this week. This comes after Trump accused China of violating an agreement reached on tariff cuts and trade restrictions.
In addition, the tariffs imposed by the US on imported steel and aluminum are expected to increase to 50% from June 5. The European Commission also announced that it would make a strong argument to request the US to reduce or remove these heavy tariffs, despite President Trump's tough stance.
Besides gold, spot silver prices fell 1.7% to $34.20 an ounce. Meanwhile, platinum rose slightly by 0.3% to $1,066 an ounce and palladium edged up 0.1% to nearly $990 an ounce. These figures show that the precious metals market is still quite sensitive to trade developments and global economic fluctuations.
