The domestic market is on a long holiday but some companies still adjust the gold price up. Specifically, Bao Tin Minh Chau Company ( Hanoi ) buys SJC gold bars at 118.3 million VND/tael, sells at 121 million VND, an increase of 200,000 VND in the buying price compared to yesterday. The selling price of SJC gold bars has not changed after a week. The selling price of 121 million VND/tael was also maintained by Saigon Jewelry Company - SJC throughout the week.

Even if the gold price does not change, buyers will immediately lose more than 3 million VND/tael.

Meanwhile, the price of 4-number 9 gold rings at SJC Company remained unchanged after a week, being bought for 114 million VND and sold for 116.5 million VND. Bao Tin Minh Chau alone was bought for 116.6 million VND and sold for 119.7 million VND, down 300,000 VND compared to the end of last week. The difference in buying and selling prices of gold rings at Bao Tin Minh Chau was 3.1 million VND/tael, the highest in the market. This caused gold ring buyers to lose 3.1 million VND per day.

The world gold price at the end of the week stood at 3,239.6 USD/ounce, up 21 USD after a week despite many fluctuations. Converted according to Vietcombank exchange rate, world gold is equivalent to 102.2 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, each tael of SJC gold bar is nearly 19 million VND more expensive than the world - a record gap like the end of 2023.

Responding to the forecast for gold prices next week, many analysts believe that the downward trend will occur. Specifically, in a Kitco News survey attracting 18 Wall Street analysts, 9 people, accounting for 50%, predicted that gold prices will decrease. On the contrary, 5 people, equivalent to 28%, said that gold will go up and the remaining 4 people, equivalent to 22%, said that the precious metal will go sideways.

Meanwhile, in a Main Street survey of 273 individual investors , 143 people, or 52%, still predicted gold would rise. Conversely, 79 people, or 29%, thought gold would fall, and the remaining 51 investors, or 19%, said the precious metal would move sideways./.
