As of 9:30 a.m. today, the price of 9999 Hung Thinh Vuong round gold rings at DOJI is listed at 111.0-113.0 million VND/tael (buy - sell); down 500 thousand VND/tael for buying and down 1 million VND/tael for selling compared to early this morning. Bao Tin Minh Chau listed the price of gold rings at 112.3-115.3 million VND/tael (buy - sell); down 1.5 million VND/tael in both buying and selling compared to early this morning. The difference between buying and selling prices is 3 million VND/tael.
The downward trend in gold prices today, May 29, 2025, is said to be due to the impact of the international market, when world gold prices fell sharply after positive economic reports from the US and the USD increased sharply. This has put great pressure on domestic gold prices, causing prices to decrease across all brands.

Update gold price today May 29, 2025 latest on the world market
At the time of trading at 10:30 a.m. on May 28, 2025 (Vietnam time), the world gold price recorded by Kitco was at 3,265.41 USD/ounce. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (26,210 VND/USD), the world gold price is equivalent to about 103.31 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Compared with the domestic SJC gold bar price on the same day (114.7-117.2 million VND/tael), the SJC gold price is currently about 13.89 million higher than the international gold price.
On May 29, 2025, the price of gold today on the world market is attracting attention due to many fluctuations related to interest rates and economic policies. It all started with a ruling in the US, where a federal court in Manhattan blocked new tariffs proposed by President Donald Trump, called "Liberation Day tariffs". This caused the US dollar to increase sharply because it is considered a safe haven, directly affecting the global financial market, including the price of gold.
The ruling suggests that the court found Trump overstepped his authority by imposing tariffs on countries that export more to the United States than they import from it. This raises the prospect that the high tariffs he has threatened may not be implemented immediately. The White House has appealed the decision and could take the case to the Supreme Court if necessary, but in the meantime, markets have a chance to breathe a sigh of relief.
Financial experts, such as Kyle Rodda from Capital.com, believe that the power to impose taxes actually belongs to the US Congress, and the emergency powers that Trump used to enact taxes may be unconstitutional. If the court continues to support this view, it will remove a major risk for the market, making investors more willing to take risks, indirectly affecting the price of gold today, May 29, 2025.
The decision could also mean that other U.S. trading partners may pause negotiations with the White House while they wait to see what the final ruling will be. Paul Ashworth, an economist at Capital Economics, said the decision would throw a wrench into the administration’s plans to strike quick trade deals during the 90-day tariff moratorium, which is now deemed illegal. Other countries will be watching to see if a higher court overturns the ruling.
Investor reaction was positive. Asian stock indexes such as Japan's Nikkei rose 1.7%, South Korean shares hit a nine-month high with a 1.2% gain. The MSCI index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan rose 0.3%, while China's major stocks were steady at 0.5%. These moves were echoed globally, with the EUROSTOXX 50 up 1.1%, the FTSE up 0.7% and the DAX up 0.9%. All of these changes could affect gold prices today, May 29, 2025, as gold often moves when financial markets have such big developments.
News, gold price trends today May 29, 2025 domestic and world gold prices
Gold prices today, May 29, 2025, are experiencing notable fluctuations in the world market. If the US Federal Reserve (Fed) cuts interest rates, this will be good news for gold, as the USD may weaken, creating conditions for gold prices to increase. Currently, the Fed is keeping interest rates at 4.25% - 4.5% from December 2024, making the cost of holding gold - a non-interest-bearing asset - expensive, slowing the price increase.
Many investors are closely watching monetary policy signals from the Fed as well as trade negotiations between the US and the EU, Japan and China. Any tough statements from either side could push gold prices up today, May 29, 2025, while a truce could cause prices to fall. In addition, the tension in Ukraine also has a big impact, especially when Russia reacted strongly to President Trump's warning to Mr. Putin, even risking World War III.
Technically, gold is facing immediate resistance at $3,324.50 an ounce, the high reached on May 27. The next resistance levels are $3,350 an ounce and $3,400 an ounce, while the nearest support level is $3,290 an ounce. Francisco Blanch, an expert at Bank of America Securities, said that gold is currently correcting due to the easing of geopolitical tensions in the short term. However, he is optimistic that gold and silver will rally strongly in the second half of 2025.
Gold prices hit their $3,500/ounce target in the first half of this year, but are currently in a correction that could last several months. Blanch believes that a return to geopolitical or policy uncertainty is needed to break above $3,500/ounce and continue to rise. He predicts that gold prices could hit $4,000/ounce by late 2025 or 2026, but for now, sustained gains are unlikely.
