World gold price today June 4, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours

According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 1:30 p.m. on June 4, Vietnam time, was 3,344.62 USD/ounce. Today's gold price decreased by 8.15 USD/ounce compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,254 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 110.13 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 7.5 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

World gold prices increased slightly as investors continued to seek safe assets amid signs of US-China trade tensions cooling down and concerns about a weakening global economy.

Specifically, spot gold prices increased 0.3% to $3,361.03/ounce. US gold futures also increased 0.2%, trading around $3,384.20/ounce.

Kelvin Wong, Asia-Pacific analyst at OANDA, said uncertainty still dominates the market, especially over trade relations between the US and China, as well as between the US and Europe. This, he said, is why investors continue to return to gold whenever prices rise slightly. Gold is considered a safe haven during times of economic uncertainty.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s recent statement that the United States needs to create conditions to get bilateral relations “back on track” underscores that tensions between the world’s two largest economies remain unresolved. The White House has also signaled that President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping may speak by phone this week to discuss the trade dispute.

In addition, the US has just decided not to double steel and aluminum import tariffs on the UK, suggesting that some trade concessions may be on the table.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has also warned that global growth could be slower than expected, especially as current US trade policies are weighing on the economy. This further reinforces the reason why investors are looking to gold as a medium-term hedge against risks.

Meanwhile, newly released data showed that the number of jobs in the US increased in April, but the number of people laid off also reached a nine-month high, indicating signs of a weakening labor market. On the same day, US Federal Reserve (Fed) officials continued to maintain a cautious stance, emphasizing risks from trade wars and economic instability.

Apart from gold, other precious metals markets fluctuated slightly: silver prices were stable at $34.48/ounce, platinum increased 0.6% to $1,078.96/ounce, and palladium decreased 0.5% to $1,005.44/ounce.
