In the international market, gold prices increased sharply even though US President Donald Trump announced that he had allowed a 90-day suspension of reciprocal tariffs.
Concerns about trade tensions have caused demand for gold to skyrocket, pushing the price of the precious metal up sharply. Early this morning, the world gold price was trading at $3,084/ounce, up more than $116 from the lowest level last night, and $100/ounce higher than the same time the day before.

At nearly 9:00 a.m., the gold price was 3,089 USD/ounce, converted to be 6 million VND/tael lower than the domestic gold price.
In the domestic market, businesses listed the price of SJC gold bars at VND100.4 million/tael (buy) - VND103.4 million/tael (sell), an increase of VND700,000/tael (buy) and VND1.5 million/tael (sell) compared to the end of the previous day.
For gold rings, Saigon Jewelry Company Limited increased by VND500,000/tael (buying) and VND1.3 million/tael (selling), up to VND100 million/tael (buying) - VND103 million/tael (selling).
Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company increased the buying price by 300,000 VND/tael and kept the selling price unchanged, at 99.8 million VND/tael (buy) - 101.9 million VND/tael (sell).
Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited increased from 99.9 million VND/tael (buy) - 102 million VND/tael (sell) to 100.5 million VND/tael (buy) - 103.5 million VND/tael (sell), which is 600,000 VND/tael (buy) and 1.5 million VND/tael (sell) higher than the end of the previous day.
Thus, the price of SJC gold bars has broken the record of 102.8 million VND/tael set on April 3, 2025 to set a new record of 103.4 million VND/tael.
The price of gold rings has set a historical level of 103.5 million VND/tael instead of 102.9 million VND/tael.
Gold prices fluctuated strongly, so businesses widened the buying and selling margin to 2.4-3 million VND/tael to avoid risks.
In the foreign exchange market, the State Bank of Vietnam announced the central exchange rate of VND to USD, applicable for April 10, 2025, as 1 USD = 24,964 VND, an increase of 28 VND compared to April 9.
However, Vietcombank listed the USD price at 25,640 VND (buy) - 26,000 VND (sell), down 182 VND per USD compared to the previous day. BIDV set the USD price at 25,610 VND (buy) - 25,970 VND (sell) instead of 25,822 VND (buy) - 26,182 VND (sell) yesterday.
