Gold and oil prices rise, USD cools down

At the end of the trading session on September 16, the buying price of 4-digit 9 gold bars at SJC Ho Chi Minh City was 68.25 million VND per tael and the selling price was 68.95 million VND per tael. The buying price of 4-digit 9 gold bars at SJC Hanoi was listed at 68.25 million VND per tael and the selling price was 68.97 million VND.

Doji Hanoi listed at 68.1 million VND per tael for buying and 69 million VND per tael for selling.

On the world market, the spot gold price on Kitco ended the week at 1,924.1 USD per ounce. The futures gold price was traded at 1,946.2 USD per ounce.

Gold prices on the world market today increased slightly at the end of the week. The USD decreased by 0.2%, making gold more attractive. World gold prices increased by 0.3% during the week.

On the stock market , in the trading session on September 15, VN-Index increased slightly. At the end of the trading session, VN-Index increased by 3.55 points, to 1,227.36 points. HNX-Index increased by 0.9 points, to 252.76 points. UPCoM-Index increased by 0.11 points, to 93.76 points.

The central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong (VND) and the US Dollar (USD) announced by the State Bank on September 15 was 24,036 VND per USD. The USD price at commercial banks on September 16 was traded around 24,055 VND per USD (buy) and 24,425 VND per USD (sell).

Globally, the USD price cooled down after a sharp increase. The DXY index - measuring the strength of the USD against 6 major currencies - ended the week at 105.33 points, down 0.07% compared to the previous session.

Oil prices in the world market continued to rise at the end of the week, reaching a 10-month high and recording the third consecutive week of increase due to tight supply from Saudi Arabia's production cuts and optimism surrounding China's crude demand. Brent crude oil prices ended the week at $93.93 a barrel, WTI at $90.77 a barrel.

In the domestic market, the selling prices of gasoline and oil today are applied according to the prices at the management session on the afternoon of September 11 of the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade. Accordingly, gasoline prices remain unchanged, oil prices increase slightly.

Specifically, the price of E5 gasoline is 23,470 VND per liter. The price of RON 95 gasoline is 24,870 VND per liter. The price of diesel oil increased to 23,055 VND per liter, the price of kerosene increased to 23,188 VND per liter, and fuel oil is 17,704 VND per kilogram.
