The “Green Steps” running race is a practical activity in response to Earth Hour 2023, Youth Month 2023 and to celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 / March 26, 2023). This is also an activity associated with the movement to implement the program “Each young person takes 10,000 steps a day” and the Olympic Running Day for the health of all people in 2023.
In addition to union members, youth , the "Green Steps" Running Race attracted outstanding young citizens of Ho Chi Minh City, beauty queens, runners-up, young artists... to participate. The running route of nearly 4 km started from the City Youth Cultural House, passing through many famous works and locations of Ho Chi Minh City such as: City People's Committee Headquarters, City Theater, Notre Dame Cathedral, Nguyen Hue walking street... At the end of the race, the organizing committee awarded prizes to outstanding athletes.
Speaking at the opening of the race, comrade Tran Thu Ha, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Student Association emphasized: The race carries a message of propaganda, mobilizing union members, youth, and students to effectively promote the spirit of physical training, increase endurance and flexibility. At the same time, the city's youth wish to continue spreading the spirit of building a green lifestyle, green community and contributing to the common efforts in the issues of energy saving, environmental protection and climate change.
On the same day, at the grassroots level, the Youth Union under the City Youth Union simultaneously deployed the following activities: Organizing physical training and sports activities at the unit in response to the program "Each young person 10,000 steps per day" and the Olympic Running Day for the health of the whole people in 2023, implementing projects and tasks to help increase the efficiency of using electrical equipment and save energy... At the same time, organizing environmental sanitation activities, planting trees, enhancing green areas, guiding and promoting the use of environmentally friendly products, green consumption habits associated with the movement "Green living: Small actions - Big changes".
