Specifically, at 1:47 p.m. on November 20, the Hanoi City Police Command Information Center received a report that two children were trapped in a deep hole in Tram Mountain, Long Chau Mieu Village, Chuong My Ward, Hanoi City.
Upon receiving the news, the Command Information Center mobilized forces and vehicles of the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area 28, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department to quickly go to the scene to organize rescue.
The complex terrain of the rocky mountain area made it difficult to access the deep hole. The force commander promptly directed officers and soldiers to deploy reconnaissance and approach the incident area to determine the exact location of the victims. Upon reaching the victims, the rescue force organized first aid and encouraged and stabilized the two children. The rugged terrain forced the authorities to use specialized equipment to deploy the rescue team and bring the victims to a safe location.
Initial information, while on a picnic with family in Tram mountain area, a 4-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl slipped and fell into a deep hole and became trapped, unable to get out on their own.
Currently, the health of the two children is stable and their lives are not in danger.
Authorities recommend that people should closely monitor weather conditions; understand the terrain; prepare adequate equipment and contact information when participating in mountain climbing and picnic activities in mountainous areas. In particular, mountain climbers should go with a group, inform their relatives of the schedule and absolutely not go alone or separate from the group to avoid unfortunate incidents.
