Sharp declines at exchanges

Rubber prices fell sharply today on the exchanges due to wet weather in major production areas around the world, reducing pressure on supply. Meanwhile, domestic rubber prices recorded a slight increase.

World rubber price

Rubber prices fell sharply as wet weather affected global production.

In Japan, RSS3 rubber prices for the December contract fell to 401.1 yen/kg and the January 2025 contract fell 1.91% to 390.1 yen/kg.

On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, natural rubber for November delivery fell 3.30% to 16,715 yuan/ton; the January 2025 contract fell 3.14% to 18,030 yuan/ton; and the March 2025 contract fell 2.89% to 18,140 yuan/ton.

Longzhong Information reported that reduced rainfall could increase raw material prices and the EU's anti-deforestation bill could be delayed.

Downstream manufacturers are under pressure from falling orders and concerns about risks from expensive raw materials. China’s meteorological agency has forecast lower-than-normal rainfall over the next 10 days.

Stock markets weakened due to lack of economic stimulus from China and falling oil prices due to the situation in the Middle East.

Rubber prices were supported by warnings of heavy rains in Thailand that could cause flooding from October 9 to 15. Natural rubber inventories in Qingdao fell 1.77 percent from the previous week.

- Grade 1 latex: 447 VND/kg (TSC)

- Grade 2 latex: 443 VND/kg (TSC)

- Grade 1 mixed latex: 461 VND/kg (DRC)

- Mixed latex type 2: 406 VND/kg (DRC)

Phu Rieng Rubber Company:

- Increase latex price by 15 VND, new price: 485 VND/kg (TSC)

- Price of mixed latex: 445 VND/kg (DRC)

Ba Ria Rubber Company:

- Latex:

- 450 VND/kg (TSC) for TSC from 30 and above

- 445 VND/kg (TSC) for TSC from 25-29

- 440 VND/kg (TSC) for TSC from 20-24

- Miscellaneous latex:

- DRC 50%: 21,000 VND/kg

- DRC level from 45-49%: 19,500 VND/kg

- DRC level from 35-45%: 15,700 VND/kg

Binh Long Rubber Company:

- Latex: 386-396 VND/kg (TSC)

- Impure latex with DRC 60%: 14,000 VND/kg
