Monitoring law enforcement in Dong Phu

Information at the monitoring session said: In the first 6 months of 2023, the crime situation and violations of social order laws were reduced, the whole district had 21 cases, 30 subjects, a decrease of 2 cases compared to the same period in 2022. The authorities fought and destroyed 11 cases, 12 subjects related to drug crimes; 20 cases, 23 subjects related to economic crimes and violations of law.

Overview of the monitoring session

Regarding the investigation and handling of crimes, the General Court accepted 90 cases and 218 defendants during the period; completed the investigation of 52 cases and 140 defendants; transferred 38 cases and 78 defendants to the next period. The work of receiving and handling reports was well done. During the period, 108 reports were received, 106 were handled within the jurisdiction, 2 reports beyond the jurisdiction were transferred to the competent authorities for handling...

The District People's Court has accepted to resolve 1,070 cases according to the law, of which 673 cases have been resolved, reaching 62.9%. During the period, the District People's Procuracy strictly supervised the arrest, detention, and temporary detention so that there were no wrongful convictions, errors, or missed crimes; the rate of arrests and criminal transfers reached 100%. The Civil Judgment Enforcement Agency accepted 940 cases; the total amount of money received was more than 321 billion VND, to date more than 133 billion VND has been executed...

Representatives of district law enforcement agencies clarified some issues of concern to the monitoring delegation.

In addition to the achieved results, law enforcement agencies in Dong Phu district also pointed out some shortcomings and limitations. In particular, at the District People's Court, the rate of resolving civil cases is not high, suspended cases and prolonged cases still exist... The enforcement of civil judgments is still slow, the results of enforcement in terms of money and property value are still low, during the enforcement process, there are still cases that are pending, complicated and prolonged...
