Winning the gold medal, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation jumped up the rankings of ASIAD 19

At the end of the competition day on September 27, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation ranked 22nd on the medal table with 1 silver medal and 9 bronze medals.

However, on the morning of September 28, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation continuously received good news in the shooting event.

First, shooters Pham Quang Huy, Phan Cong Minh and Lai Cong Minh brought home the bronze medal in the men's 10m air pistol team event with 1,730 points.

After that, shooter Pham Quang Huy brought home the gold medal in the men's 10m air pistol individual event.

Notably, this is also the first gold medal of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 19th ASIAD.

Thanks to that achievement, the Vietnamese team has made a leap forward in the medal rankings of ASIAD 19.

Specifically, we increased 8 places on the morning of September 28 to reach 14th place on the rankings with 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and 10 bronze medals (as of 12:00 on September 28).

Besides shooting, on September 28, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation continued to compete in other sports including: Boxing, table tennis, football, swimming, chess, fencing, esports, golf and gymnastics.

In the League of Legends esports event, the Vietnamese team defeated Kyrgyzstan to enter the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Hoang Khang won the first qualifying round of the men's 50m butterfly and qualified for the final.

Unfortunately, Vietnamese fencers Nguyen Van Quyet, Vu Thanh An and Nguyen Xuan Loi lost to Uzbekistan in the qualifying round of the men's team sabre event.
