Teacher moves people with "plan" to help shy male student integrate

The viral incident took place at a primary school in Luoyang City, Henan Province, China. The video recording the happy moments of a class before the summer vacation has continuously spread on social media platforms in China.

In the video, the homeroom teacher asks the students to draw lots to decide whether the whole class will go out to the playground, or continue studying in the classroom until the end of the school day. According to the rules set by the teacher, if the student invited to draw lots draws a blank piece of paper, the whole class will go out to the playground.

The teacher suddenly called on a shy boy sitting in the corner of the classroom to represent the whole class in drawing lots. At first, the boy was confused and embarrassed, but gradually regained his composure thanks to the cheers of his classmates.

After a moment of hesitation, the boy carefully pulled out a piece of paper, which was a blank sheet. When the teacher asked him to show the results to the whole class, the atmosphere in the classroom immediately exploded with excited cheers. Many students ran up to the podium and hugged the boy.

In a post shared on social media, the class’s homeroom teacher said that this student was the quietest in the class. To help him integrate better with the rest of the class, she came up with a “plan”, which was to make all the pieces of paper used for the lottery blank. A fun situation would help him and his friends bond more closely.

“The students have finished their semester exams, so missing a class on the last days before summer break is not a big deal. But being able to miss a class to go to the playground makes them extremely excited,” the teacher wrote on her personal page.
