On the morning of July 14, the Provincial People's Court held a first-instance trial of the criminal case and sentenced defendant Nguyen Huu Tuyen (born 1990, residing in Ea Tam ward, Buon Ma Thuot city) to 18 years in prison for murder.

According to the indictment, since 2014, Tuyen and Ms. NTNT (born in 1991, residing in the same ward) have lived together as husband and wife and have two children. During their time together, the two often had conflicts because Tuyen suspected Ms. T. of having a relationship with someone else.

On the evening of January 20, 2023, after returning from a year-end party, Tuyen rode his motorbike to a hair salon on Le Duan Street (Ea Tam Ward) to pick up Ms. T. but did not see her. Tuyen called Ms. T. many times but she did not answer. At around 9:00 p.m. the same day, while driving on Le Duan Street, Tuyen saw Ms. T. sitting behind a young man's motorbike and chased after her, but could not catch up.

After that, Tuyen went home to get a sharp knife and continued to look for her. He found Ms. T. sitting in a taxi parked on Sam Bram Street (Ea Tam Ward). Tuyen immediately went to pull T. out and punched and kicked her many times. Ms. T. ran a short distance and met her brother, Nguyen Ngoc Son, who was parking his car nearby, so he climbed into the car and closed the door. At the same time, Tuyen also caught up, opened the car door and stabbed Ms. T. repeatedly, causing her death shortly after.

After committing the crime, Tuyen went home to get his clothes and fled. On January 23, Nguyen Huu Tuyen went to the Criminal Police Department - Provincial Police to surrender and confessed to his crime.
