The ecological lake in Bau pond area, Nguyen Tien village, Thieu Hoa commune has long been not only a space for children and villagers to chat and play every day, but also a highlight and unique feature of the locality. Therefore, in the process of building Nguyen Tien village into a model new rural village, the village's new rural construction campaign committee has developed a plan, asked for opinions from the commune People's Committee and the people to renovate the lake area into a regulating lake park, creating a community living space for the people. Mr. Mai Van Vuong, Party cell secretary and head of Nguyen Tien village, said: "Since 2023, Nguyen Tien village has embarked on a model new rural area construction project. The village's mobilization committee and the people have agreed with the policy of new rural area construction associated with creating a bright - green - clean - beautiful landscape. Therefore, the villagers have planted green tea hedges to replace concrete walls; along the village roads are covered with rows of green trees. In particular, with support from the State, the village has also mobilized human resources and finance from the people to build the Bau pond regulating lake park. This has become a place for people to live and relax and a highlight to preserve the "countryside soul" of Nguyen Tien village".
It is known that Nguyen Tien village has mobilized nearly 2 billion VND to complete the model NTM criteria. In particular, green space has always been of interest to the locality, focusing on supporting green tree and flower varieties and encouraging people to participate in planting and caring. Currently, around Bau pond ecological lake park and all the village roads and alleys in the village are decorated with rows of green trees and colorful flowers, contributing to creating a fresh, cool environment and creating a livable countryside.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Que, Head of the Women's Union of Nguyen Tien village, said: "The Women's Union always plays a core role in the New Rural Development, with the movement to build a family of "5 no, 3 clean", especially implementing environmental criteria. Therefore, members actively participate, undertake tasks, and many members donate land, expand roads; participate in planting flowers and trees to beautify the roads in the village. Along with that, women's union members of Nguyen Tien village still maintain weekly general cleaning and promote the use of waste sorting bins, and dispose of waste in the right place... contributing to preserving a green - clean - beautiful space for the countryside".
Building "green fences" is one of the movements that has created a highlight in the process of building new rural areas in Thach Lap commune. Mr. Pham Van Canh, head of Lap Thang village, Thach Lap commune, said: "Responding to the policy of the People's Committee of Ngoc Lac district (old), Lap Thang village has built more than 3km of green fences to complete the new rural criteria. Preserving green spaces, specifically implementing the movement of planting green fences and flowers, is not only one of the sustainable new rural construction solutions but also a practical action to protect the environment, creating a peaceful beauty for the countryside and building a cultural lifestyle for the people".
In Lap Thang village, after receiving support from the Commune People's Committee for seedlings and flowers, people have actively participated in planting and caring for trees. At the same time, on weekends, people focus on cleaning up village roads and alleys, especially pruning and shaping trees. Along with that, the movement of renovating mixed gardens, actively planting trees as hedges and neatly pruning, has created a bright, green, clean and beautiful appearance of the new rural area in the village. With the built green space and natural advantages, Lap Thang has contributed to becoming an attractive and potential community tourism village.
In the process of building new rural areas, closely following Criterion No. 17 on the environment, localities in the province have focused on preserving green spaces to create a bright - green - clean - beautiful environmental landscape. Many roads in localities are covered with green trees such as black tea, purple afternoon... In the campuses of schools and village cultural houses, many types of green trees and flowers are also planted. In addition, departments, branches and organizations in the province have also actively carried out many movements and activities to preserve green spaces and create a clean, cool and beautiful environmental landscape.
According to statistics from the Provincial New Rural Development Program Coordination Office, in the period of 2020-2025, the youth union has movements such as "Volunteer Saturday", "Green Sunday"... built 404km of roads, 35 model youth routes "fresco roads", 15km of electric lines to light up rural roads, 43 routes "blossoming electric poles", 683 "youth tree rows", planted over 1.3 million new trees, 103 "youth business nurseries"... The Women's Union in the province has built and posted signs for 32,459 "Clean houses - model gardens", "Clean houses - beautiful gardens"; 10 models of "Green vegetable gardens - clean and beautiful houses - tidy kitchens - barns away from home"; 150 "fresco road" routes, 5,000km of "Flower roads - painting roads - tree rows - green fences"...
The active participation of political organizations and unions in the new rural construction has contributed to creating peaceful green spaces, beautifying the picture in each village and promoting sustainable new rural construction.
