Preserving the "brand" through food safety.

Thai Nguyen City has the largest number of street food businesses in the province. Despite their convenience, in the context of food safety being a major concern for society as a whole, ensuring hygiene in street food businesses is not only a mandatory requirement but also a vital "brand" for each establishment.

At Ms. Do Thi Nguyet Nga's bakery on Phu Lien Street (Thai Nguyen City), food safety and hygiene standards are always prioritized. The counter is neat and clean, and the cakes are displayed in glass cabinets with lids to ensure they are protected from dust and insects. Sales staff wear masks and gloves when serving customers. Processing equipment and the preparation area are regularly cleaned. Although the shop is small, it is tidy, airy, and provides a sense of security for customers.

Ms. Do Thi Nguyet Nga: I always strictly adhere to food safety regulations because the quality and safety of the food are the reputation of the restaurant and build trust with customers.

Ms. Nga's bakery is one of 1,640 food service establishments and 629 street food vendors in Thai Nguyen City. With such a large number, managing, inspecting, and raising public awareness about food safety is a pressing need. Thai Nguyen City has been implementing a comprehensive set of solutions, focusing on strengthening inspection, supervision, and strictly penalizing violations. Inter-agency teams regularly conduct surprise inspections. Establishments that do not meet food safety standards will have their operations suspended in accordance with regulations.

In addition, post-inspection efforts have been intensified to promptly detect and prevent risks from food of unknown origin and that does not meet hygiene standards. Organizations and individuals who intentionally violate regulations and negatively impact public health will be resolutely dealt with.

Alongside management efforts, emphasis has also been placed on disseminating information, educating , and encouraging people to comply with food safety regulations. Relevant agencies have implemented various forms of communication, including distributing leaflets, media coverage, and organizing training for vendors.

Street food, while easily accessible and inexpensive, poses many risks if vendors lack hygiene awareness and buyers are careless and complacent. Therefore, the key issue remains the sense of responsibility of each individual, from food preparers to consumers. Vendors need to strictly adhere to hygiene regulations, while consumers need to change their careless eating habits and choose reputable, clean, and well-ventilated establishments.

Citizens are also encouraged to proactively report and provide information to authorities if they discover businesses that do not ensure food safety, contributing to building a safe food environment for the entire community.

To improve management efficiency, Thai Nguyen City is promoting the application of information technology in food safety monitoring. Management software is being implemented synchronously, allowing for the tracking and management of data from production and business establishments, as well as feedback from citizens. These advancements not only help authorities better control food safety but also create conditions for citizens to access transparent information and conveniently choose safe food.

Food safety is not just a management requirement, but also the honor and responsibility of each business establishment. Only when vendors truly prioritize the interests of the community and consumers proactively make smart choices will the "brand" of street food truly be sustainable in the hearts of the people.
