At Ms. Do Thi Nguyet Nga's bakery on Phu Lien Street (Thai Nguyen City), food safety and hygiene (FSH) criteria are always put first. The counter is neat and clean, the cakes are displayed in glass cabinets, with careful lids, ensuring no dust or insects can get in. Sales staff wear masks and gloves when serving customers. Processing tools and preparation areas are always cleaned regularly. Although the shop space is small, it is tidy and airy, creating a sense of security for customers.

Ms. Do Thi Nguyet Nga: I always strictly comply with food safety regulations because the quality and safety of the dishes is the reputation of the restaurant, creating trust for customers.

Ms. Nga's bakery is one of 1,640 food service establishments and 629 street food establishments in Thai Nguyen City. With such a large number, the work of managing, inspecting and raising people's awareness in ensuring food safety is an urgent requirement. Thai Nguyen City has been implementing many synchronous solutions, focusing on strengthening inspection, supervision and strictly handling violations. Interdisciplinary teams regularly conduct surprise inspections. Establishments that do not meet food safety requirements will be suspended in accordance with regulations.

In addition, post-inspection work is also being strengthened to promptly detect and prevent risks from food of unknown origin and unsanitary conditions. Resolutely handle organizations and individuals who intentionally violate and affect public health.

Along with management, propaganda, education and mobilization of people to comply with food safety regulations are also emphasized. The functional sectors have deployed many rich forms of propaganda such as distributing leaflets, communicating on mass media, and organizing training for sellers.

Street food, although easy to access and cheap, has many potential risks if the seller lacks hygiene awareness, and the buyer is easygoing and subjective. Therefore, the key issue is still the sense of responsibility of each person, from the processor to the consumer. Sellers need to strictly comply with hygiene regulations, and consumers need to change their casual eating habits, and should choose reputable, clean, and airy addresses.

People are also encouraged to proactively report and provide information to authorities if they discover businesses that do not ensure food safety, contributing to building a safe food environment for the entire community.

In order to improve management efficiency, Thai Nguyen City is promoting the application of information technology in food safety monitoring. Management software is deployed synchronously, allowing monitoring and management of production and business facilities data and people's feedback. These advances not only help authorities control better but also create conditions for people to access transparent information, making it convenient to choose safe food.

Food safety is not only a management requirement, but also the honor and responsibility of each business establishment. Only when sellers truly put the interests of the community first and consumers proactively make smart choices, will the street food “brand” truly be sustainable in the hearts of the people.
