Hanoi Social Protection Center 3 is assigned by the City People's Committee to receive, care for, nurture, and rehabilitate the elderly who have no one with the obligation and right to support them, and to provide care and nurturing services for the elderly who need social assistance and voluntarily contribute funds. Along with that is the task of nurturing,educating , providing vocational guidance, and reintegrating children without a source of support and children in need of urgent protection in the city.
Currently, Social Protection Center 3 is caring for and nurturing more than 170 subjects. Of these, there are 55 elderly people, the oldest of whom is 107 years old; and 116 children from 0 to 16 years old. There are 55 children from 0 to under 6 years old, of which 30 are in nursery and kindergarten. There are 40 children in primary school; 15 in secondary school; 6 in high school and vocational school.

At the program, the representative of Hanoi Social Protection Center 3, Director Tran Thi Hai reported to the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee on the implementation of the task of caring for and nurturing the elderly and children and the organization of International Children's Day at the unit. Accordingly, when the elderly and children enter the center, they are given an initial health check-up, health management records are established, case management is conducted, and reasonable accommodation is arranged. The center implements a suitable menu, understands their thoughts and wishes, encourages their spirit, and offers the best solutions for care and nurturing.
Children are cared for, nurtured according to their age, and provided with nutrition according to the menu. The Center has organized preschool and pre-primary classes for children from 3 to under 6 years old. Children from grade 1 can study at public schools in the area. In particular, the Center implements a foster parent model, in which each staff member sponsors a child, cares for, encourages, and cares for them so that they have more love and attention, and reduce their inferiority complex in life.
Notably, in implementing the Month of Action for Children, the Hanoi Department of Health has directed the Department of Population, Children and Prevention of Social Evils, the Center for Social Work and the Hanoi Children's Fund to coordinate with the Hanoi Heart Hospital to screen for congenital heart disease for children being cared for at the Center. Doctors have discovered 2 cases of congenital heart disease and sponsored the entire cost of heart surgery for the 2 children with a total cost of 100 million VND. This week, the children will be hospitalized for surgery. The unit also organized a performance festival, gave gifts and held a party to celebrate Children's Day for the children at 02 facilities of the Center.

At the program, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha presented gifts from the city and gifts mobilized from social resources to children in special circumstances and difficult circumstances who are being cared for and raised at the Center. Vice Chairman Vu Thu Ha visited each care and nurturing room to visit and talk with the staff and children.
Directly inspecting the child care work, Vice President Vu Thu Ha highly appreciated the efforts of the Center's staff in ensuring a clean and scientific care process, especially in caring for premature and seriously ill newborns. Overcoming countless difficulties, the Center's staff have helped alleviate the disadvantages of disadvantaged people and successfully completed all tasks assigned by the city.

Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha also acknowledged the proposal to expand Social Protection Center 3 - Facility 106 Nguyen Hoang (Hanoi) so that the Center has enough space to arrange rooms and areas to organize life skills education and career guidance more fully and spaciously, helping children develop comprehensively and gain knowledge, gradually becoming confident in life. Thereby, contributing to the good implementation of the work of protecting, caring for and educating children, especially the work of caring for poor children, children with disabilities, orphans, children in difficult circumstances, so that they can live in a safe environment, be loved, cared for, nurtured and educated comprehensively.
