Provincial Association for Promotion of Education organizes Green Promotion of Education Workshop

On May 29, the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education (AEP) organized the Green Education Promotion Workshop. Attending the workshop were comrades: Nguyen Thi Doan, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Promotion of Education; Nguyen Duc Toan, member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Tran Xuan Duong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the education promotion committees of departments, branches, sectors, unions, and armed forces of the province; AEP at all levels; outstanding clans, families, and units.

In recent years, the Ha Nam Provincial People's Committee has effectively implemented the movement to encourage learning and talent, successfully building the models: "Learning family", "Learning clan", "Learning community", "Learning unit", "Learning citizen" associated with the emulation movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", the movement "Building new rural areas, civilized urban areas". With the results achieved in the work of encouraging learning and talent, building a learning society has actively contributed to the development of Ha Nam province.

In the coming time, the provincial HKH will continue to coordinate with innovative units to improve the effectiveness of propaganda and mobilization work to raise awareness, create changes in thinking and behavior towards the environment; respect nature, consider nature as a friend, live together and develop sustainably among all classes of people. Along with helping each person through lifelong learning to have a positive mindset about nature, have a green lifestyle; integrate the contents of the "Encouraging Green Learning" program with specific activities such as: promoting propaganda on energy saving, reducing plastic waste, planting trees, using sustainable resources; communicating environmental knowledge, green lifestyle to children and grandchildren; launching the movement "green hamlet - green learning village - civilized city", organizing community classes on recycling and environmental protection.

Speaking at the workshop, former Vice President, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education Nguyen Thi Doan said that, implementing Decision No. 1658/QD-TTg dated October 1, 2021 of the Prime Minister approving the National Strategy on Green Growth for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the main task of HKH is not to directly organizeeducational activities in the direction of greening but to link and coordinate with the education sector to build and integrate contents and topics on sustainable development, green development, green transformation, green lifestyle, green thinking into the learning program and activities at community learning centers. Therefore, it is necessary to have flexible methods of communication, exchange, and discussion with practical, real, and attractive evidence to help learners remember for a long time and practice immediately. It is necessary to strongly propagate in vivid forms in the community so that people can change their thinking, awareness, and responsibility towards nature and the living environment...

At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing and clarifying the concept, role, and core content of "Green Learning Promotion", focusing on "Green Thinking", "Green Lifestyle", "Green Skills" in response to the requirements of green development and green growth of the country and the province in the spirit of Decision No. 1658/QD-TTg dated October 1, 2021 of the Prime Minister approving the National Strategy on Green Growth for the period 2021-2030, vision 2050. At the same time, sharing experiences and good models in implementing environmental education and green lifestyle in local and grassroots learning communities; proposing solutions to improve the quality of activities of community learning centers in the period of "Green Growth, Digital Age"; Solutions for all levels of HKH to integrate green development content into the regular activity program for the period 2025 - 2030 to ensure that it is consistent with the actual situation at the grassroots level and the direction of the Prime Minister, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education and the locality; recommend policies to support and encourage green learning models at the grassroots level...

Also at the program, the provincial HKH coordinated with sponsors to award prizes to more than 300 prize-winning students and teachers who trained excellent students who won prizes in the National Excellent Student Competition, and scholarships for poor students who overcame difficulties in the 2024-2025 school year.
