Removed more than 5,000 bad and toxic content on cyberspace

On the morning of July 17, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.

The conference was attended by representatives of leaders of units under the Ministry and 35 online bridges across the country. Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung chaired the conference.

Here, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the management and supervision of cyberspace continues to be strengthened. In the first 6 months of the year, the industry has coordinated with social networking platforms to handle a series of violating and toxic content. Specifically, Facebook removed 3,099 posts; YouTube deleted 913 videos and 7 channels (with about 12,000 videos); TikTok handled 1,284 violating content including videos, audios and accounts. At the same time, Apple and Google also blocked 148 out of a total of 219 unlicensed games on the app store.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also strengthened the management of advertising content in the digital environment, blocked and removed 2 websites and 4 Facebook links that violated food safety regulations, and coordinated with the Ministry of Health to handle cases of celebrities falsely advertising functional foods. Monitoring the activities of cross-border platforms such as Netflix, Amazon TV, Apple, WeTV, iQIYI, and MangoTV is maintained regularly.

Speaking at the conference, Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh said that the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector has achieved comprehensive results in all four areas: culture, sports , tourism and communications. The Ministry has successfully organized many important commemorative activities such as the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday... contributing to spreading historical values and national spirit.

The tourism sector recorded strong growth with more than 10.6 million international visitors, revenue of about 518,000 billion VND. Cultural heritage continued to be preserved and promoted, notably the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Complex recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage...

In the last 6 months of the year, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will focus on completing many major projects such as the National Target Program for Cultural Development, Cultural Industry Strategy, Entertainment Industry Development Project; at the same time, organizing large-scale events such as the National Achievement Exhibition, Vietnam Film Festival, Photography Festival and a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2...

Press and communication work continues to be promoted with many key contents. The industry focuses on implementing the planning of the press, radio, television and electronic information network for the period 2021-2030; implementing the project of the national press data storage and analysis system; completing projects to promote Vietnam's image abroad through press, publishing, social networks, etc.

Concluding the conference, Minister Nguyen Van Hung emphasized the motto of action: "Culture is the foundation - Information is the conduit - Sports is the strength - Tourism is the connecting bridge", and at the same time requested the whole industry to continue to innovate, accelerate and make breakthroughs to complete the key goals in 2025.
