The starting point for this transformation wave comes from the realization of the viewpoint: “Science and technology is the foundation and key driving force for socio -economic development”. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Hue city, in many speeches, emphasized that people and businesses must be the center of innovation.

Not only stopping at statements, the Department of Science and Technology has become the nucleus connecting the government and businesses through a series of specific actions: Recognizing science and technology enterprises such as Hue One Food - which has completed the process of producing Hue pressed rice paper on a semi-automatic industrial scale, achieving quality certificates such as HACCP, OCOP; accompanying the Institute of Research and Application of Science and Technology, University of Science , Hue University to promote technology transfer activities and establish science and technology enterprises; closely coordinating with the Hue City Business Association to implement programs to support digital infrastructure, skills training and product traceability via QR code...

At the meeting between the Department of Science and Technology and the Institute of Research and Application of Science and Technology, University of Sciences, Hue University, the representative of the unit said: “We wish to accompany the Department in scientific application fields such as AI, robots, semiconductor materials. At the same time, we propose that the Department support in completing legal documents to form science and technology enterprises as well as communicating and promoting research products through the Hue-S digital platform, creating a premise for more effective commercialization in the future”.

Government takes initiative - businesses take action

The success of a science and technology ecosystem does not only come from facilities or human resources, but more importantly, the initiative of local authorities in leading and creating a favorable environment.

On March 21, 2025, at the working session with the Department of Science and Technology, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, member of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee, acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the Department of Science and Technology in the past time, especially the spirit of solidarity, sharing, and proactive innovation in the context of organizational consolidation. Regarding the future orientation, Mr. Binh emphasized: “Digital transformation has reached the transformation stage, creating practical values ​​on all three pillars: Digital government, digital economy and digital society. It is necessary to bring smart urban services and models of Project 06 into effective service for people and the government. At the same time, the Department of Science and Technology needs to continue reviewing institutions and policy mechanisms to support businesses and scientists, encouraging these subjects to accompany local governments”.

Mr. Trinh Minh Viet - Director of FPT Software Hue Company shared: "We are facing some difficulties in the process of implementing procedures and recruiting personnel. We hope that the local government and the Department of Science and Technology will continue to accompany and support businesses to develop effectively and make positive contributions to the city". Such voices from the business community further show that, in order for policies to not remain on paper, we need people who "know how to go along and pave the way" - as Hue is doing.

No longer just slogans, Hue is gradually proving that when the government's mindset changes, when businesses are trusted and when science is placed in the right place, a cultural city can completely transform itself into a creative center. The journey of transformation from policy to action, from central vision to local implementation is breathing new life into the ancient capital. With a clearly formed science and technology ecosystem, with the support of the government and the participation of businesses and research institutes, Hue is not behind. Hue chooses to go differently - with science, with innovation, with identity and aspiration to reach the level of a smart, green and humane city.
