Contribute to the goal of planting 1 billion trees

To effectively implement the Project and contribute to the whole country in achieving this goal, Quang Ninh province has developed plans and organized the implementation of afforestation and tree planting programs and projects of ministries, branches and localities.

Along with the implementation and direction of the province, localities, departments, branches and units in the province have issued many documents and implementation plans to commune, ward and town levels, and affiliated units to promote afforestation, scattered tree planting, organize movements, emulation, integration and mobilization of legal capital sources to support seedlings and scattered tree planting in the premises of headquarters, schools, industrial parks, traffic corridors and other public works in the area.

According to the plan, in the 2021-2025 period, the province strives to complete the planting of 12.411 million trees (equivalent to 7,092 hectares), of which nearly 4.3 million scattered trees (3,533.1 hectares) and over 8.1 million concentrated forest trees (3,559.2 hectares); priority is given to planting native trees, large, multi-purpose trees, with high environmental protection value and protective effects in the province.

The province mobilized the participation of the entire political system and people in planting scattered trees and concentrated forests to gradually improve the quality and coverage of forests, shifting from fast-growing tree species (acacia, eucalyptus) with low economic, social and environmental value to planting large timber trees and indigenous trees with high economic and environmental protection value; mobilizing socialized resources to support funding for planting large timber forests and indigenous trees. Investment resources for forestry development increased significantly, especially socialized resources, reducing investment pressure from the state budget; contributing to consolidating and enhancing people's trust in local Party committees and authorities in forest management, protection and development.

The province has implemented large-scale timber plantations using lim, giổi, lát and indigenous trees. The crop structure has changed positively towards increasing the area of ​​indigenous trees and large timber trees, contributing to improving productivity, quality and value of forests; the socialization of forestry has been promoted, especially in investment and attracting investment resources.

According to statistics from the Forestry Department (Department of Agriculture and Environment), from 2021 to 2024, the whole province planted over 10.4 million trees, equal to 84% of the plan; of which concentrated afforestation (excluding replacement afforestation and replanting of production forests) was 6.56 million trees, and scattered trees were planted 3.87 million trees. "Tree planting festival forever remembering Uncle Ho" Spring At Ty 2025, as of February 7, 2025, the whole province planted over 597,000 trees (equivalent to 597.15 hectares); of which concentrated afforestation was over 406,000 trees, and scattered trees were planted over 190,800 trees. Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the province assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and localities to proactively launch the emulation movement to achieve achievements in implementing the Project "Planting 1 billion trees in the period of 2021-2025", continue to effectively implement the Project and the tasks assigned in Plan No. 148/KH-UBND dated August 10, 2021 of the Provincial People's Committee, striving to complete and exceed the set targets.
