Ha Giang speeds up construction progress of Tuyen Quang-Ha Giang expressway (phase 1)

Enterprises mobilize maximum human resources and machinery, deploying many construction teams at the construction site. All are focusing on achieving the goal of completing Tuyen Quang-Ha Giang Expressway by the end of 2025.

This year, the weather was unfavorable, from May to September heavy rains lasted for a long time, causing some public roads under construction of the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway to be washed away by floods and landslides, making it impossible to dig, build roadbeds, and transport concrete to serve the construction of bridges, culverts, and underpasses for people.

In many areas, the water level rose so high that it submerged the bridge piers, making construction impossible. The entire route was halted during the rainy months, which greatly affected progress.

Since the beginning of October, the weather has been dry, which is the “golden period” for construction, especially for projects that are heavily affected by weather factors. Therefore, businesses have mobilized machinery and human resources, dividing into many construction teams along the entire route.

On the construction site of the section from Km19-Km27+480 (package 05-Xl), the sounds of excavators, trucks, and road rollers echoed throughout the site. This section is being constructed by 307 Ha Giang Company Limited and is currently mobilizing hundreds of machines, equipment, and manpower to level mountains, cut hills, and open roadbeds; construct mechanical ditches, top ditches, and cover the road.

Mr. Tran Trung Tinh, construction site manager, 307 Ha Giang Company Limited said: “The highway section constructed by the company has a very complex terrain, with many high mountains and deep ravines, so the roadbed excavation part has a very large volume of excavation and filling, up to nearly 2 million m3. This is a part of the work that is greatly affected by weather factors. Therefore, taking advantage of favorable weather, the company is mobilizing human resources, machinery, and construction in “3 shifts, 4 teams”, so far this part of the work has completed more than 65% of the workload”.

Similarly, in package 04-XL, the construction of the roadbed for the entire route is being focused on by businesses. To maximize the use of human resources and machinery, businesses are divided into many construction teams along the entire route. In some sections, excavators and cars are mobilized to clear mountains and cut hills to open the roadbed; in other sections, K95 embankment is being constructed, and drainage systems, civil underpasses, bridges and intersections are being constructed along the entire route.

Mr. Le Manh Dung, Acting Director of the Ha Giang Province Traffic Construction Investment Management Board, said that in response to the Prime Minister's "500 days and nights of competition to complete 3,000km of expressways"; the 60-day and night competition to disburse public investment capital launched by Ha Giang Province. The leaders of Ha Giang Province, Bac Quang District, and the leaders of the project management board are regularly present at the expressway construction site to inspect, urge, and encourage the construction units to speed up the project implementation progress. Along with that, they are solving difficulties and problems in the implementation process.

To ensure the project's construction progress, the Ha Giang Province Traffic Construction Investment Management Board also needs the province, district and relevant agencies to promptly resolve some difficulties.

Resolutely resolve existing problems related to compensation, site clearance, relocation of technical infrastructure and site handover. Currently, there are still some sections and construction bottlenecks along the entire route due to site clearance problems that need to be resolved, including: 636m of site handover has not been completed, some households have not agreed to the compensation price; moving technical infrastructure out of the construction area.

Currently, construction contractors have made many efforts to find sources of stone materials to mobilize and gather at the site. Currently, the stone mines are almost at the approved exploitation capacity in 2024, not ensuring the reserve supply for the project. Therefore, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment will soon remove difficulties in material sources to implement the project.
