The province attracted more than 2.1 million tourists in 9 months thanks to innovative promotion and tourist support through digital platforms.
In the first 9 months of this year, the province welcomed more than 2.1 million visitors, an increase of 35% over the same period, of which international visitors reached over 218,000 and domestic visitors were over 1.9 million. The province's tourism revenue reached over 5,000 billion VND, an increase of 58.6% over the same period. Tourism has gradually become a spearhead economic sector, an important "pillar" of Ha Giang's economy.
In particular, the Provincial Museum has been upgraded and its products and services have been developed based on digital technology with the support of experts. This has contributed to making this place one of the typical tourist destinations; preserving, introducing, promoting, and at the same time affirming the long-standing historical values and cultural values of the ethnic groups that have been and are living in Ha Giang.
The museum opened in September and welcomed over 6,000 visitors in a month. With a touch of a hand, visitors can receive information about history, culture, ethnicity, and scenic spots. The design incorporates technology, interactive screens, automatic guidance devices, and online information access, providing both effective communication and visual effects.
The cinema room here is also equipped with 3D Mapping projection technology, using light to create 3D effects on contact surfaces, creating interactive image blocks in three-dimensional space.

Director of Fivestar Tourism Company Luong Duy Doanh shared that the resonance between history, traditional culture, scenic spots, socio-economic development achievements of the province and digital technology creates many wonderful experiences for tourists. "Catching up with the digital transformation trend in building new tourism products is the right direction, helping the museum develop sustainably," he added.
In addition, Ha Giang has gradually concretized the digital transformation task. The provincial tourism association cooperated with Asim Group to install QR code scanning signs introducing typical tourist areas and spots of the province in 11 districts and cities. Accordingly, tourists can easily find information about destinations, scenic spots, culture, accommodation, transportation and suggested suitable routes.
In September, the unit and Adver Media Joint Stock Company signed a cooperation agreement in managing and operating the Tripmap - Ha Giang digital tourism transformation application. When using this platform, tourists can exchange, send messages and contact service providers directly at the destination via the integrated chat system, without having to search for information from unverified sources online.
Users can use Tripmap via two platforms: website and mobile application. Tripmap application also contributes to creating a healthy, fair, and favorable tourism environment, enhancing connection and interaction between tourists, businesses, people and the government.

According to a survey by a professional agency, 36% of tourists book tours through online platforms. Software supporting ticket booking, hotel booking, and transportation is developing rapidly. Thanks to that, tourists can explore and learn about destinations at home using smartphones, computers with Internet connection and perform other travel operations for the entire journey.
Based on this feature, Ha Giang regularly updates consulting information, supports and provides online information to tourists about routes and tourist destinations through the website of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Smart Tourism Information Portal; website, fanpage of the Provincial Tourism Promotion Information Center.
According to Ms. Vu Mai Huong - Deputy Director of the Provincial Tourism Promotion Information Center, the unit is proactively approaching and applying the benefits of the 4.0 revolution to implement tourism promotion and advertising programs, online consulting and information digitization.
The biggest difficulty at present is the limited infrastructure, modern equipment and qualified IT human resources to meet the requirements of digital transformation in tourism. In the coming time, the center plans to continue advising the industry to digitize all recognized tourism destinations and products in the province; apply 3D technology; upgrade the province's tourism website from monolingual to bilingual.
In addition, the unit also aims to improve online consulting features, apply 360-degree technology on the website; complete smart tourism maps; supplement equipment, improve the quality of human resources to meet the requirements of the current digital technology revolution.
