Ha Giang celebrates 100 years of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day

On June 17, Ha Giang province held a ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and award the 16th Ha Giang Provincial Press Award. Attending the ceremony were comrade Hau A Lenh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Trong Lap, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association of Ha Giang province, emphasized that along with the development of the country's press, the Ha Giang press has persistently contributed to promoting the economic, social, security and defense development of the northernmost highland province.

Under the leadership, direction and facilitation of local Party committees and authorities, generations of Ha Giang journalists have always promoted the spirit of solidarity, constantly trained and improved their political qualities, professional ethics, and professional qualifications, properly implemented the principles and goals of information and propaganda work, contributing to the development of Ha Giang province.

“This year’s anniversary marks a century of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism and Ha Giang journalism, and opens a new chapter for Ha Giang journalism, which is to merge with Tuyen Quang journalism, carrying out propaganda tasks for the new Tuyen Quang province. A new stage of development has begun, Ha Giang journalists are determined to promote the spirit of solidarity, confidence, and determination to fulfill their tasks well on the new chapter,” emphasized comrade Le Trong Lap.

In the coming time, in order for the provincial press to successfully complete its tasks in the era of national development, he suggested that press agencies and journalists continue to practice and improve their professional qualifications and skills, absorb and apply modern journalism skills to become sharp and proficient writers, actively contributing to the development of the province.

Actively and proactively inform and propagate in all fields, ensuring timeliness, effectiveness and correct orientation; focus on propagating good people and good deeds to replicate advanced models; resolutely fight against negative manifestations.

Ha Giang Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh presented a flower basket to congratulate the press agencies of Ha Giang province.

The provincial press needs to establish a pioneering role in the comprehensive digital transformation, from management, operation to production; anticipate the digital transformation trend, apply information technology and artificial intelligence to press activities to build modern, in-depth, creative and highly influential media products.

The Provincial Journalists Association promotes its role as a bridge between the association and its affiliated branches, together with press agencies, representative offices, and resident reporters in the area to strengthen solidarity, unity, dynamism, and creativity in innovating content and methods of operation in many forms.

At the ceremony, Comrade Hau A Lenh, Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Vuong Ngoc Ha, Vice Chairman of the Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee received the Commemorative Medal for the cause of Vietnamese journalism.

Strengthening political and ideological education, professional ethics, and expertise, taking care of the legitimate interests of members, encouraging members and reporters to strive to carry out emulation movements, and creating more and more high-quality journalistic works that have positive impacts and spread in social life.

Ha Giang Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh awarded the province's Certificates of Merit to collectives with outstanding achievements in the journalism career of Ha Giang province.

At the ceremony, many individuals were awarded the Medal for the cause of Vietnamese journalism; many collectives and individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Giang province for their many achievements in the journalism career of Ha Giang province.

After the ceremony was the awarding of the 16th Ha Giang Provincial Press Awards, 2025. This year's press awards had 150 entries in 5 types of press: Print, electronic, photo press, television, radio. The preliminary council at the press agencies received and judged objectively and seriously, 124 excellent works were selected for the final round.

Leaders of Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee awarded second prize to the winning authors.

With a spirit of responsibility and impartiality, 100% of the members of the final jury unanimously voted on the award level for each work and each type of journalism. As a result, 55 best works, belonging to 5 types of journalism, were awarded. Including 5 first prizes; 10 second prizes; 15 third prizes; 25 consolation prizes.
