Ha Giang handles 27 cases of violations of counterfeit goods and trade fraud

Since May 15, the Market Management Department of Ha Giang province has coordinated with relevant agencies to launch a peak period of inspection, supervision, and handling of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.

As a result, 27 administrative violations have been detected so far, of which 26 have been handled and 1 is pending handling.

The value of goods subject to remedial measures was over VND233 million. Specifically, more than 5,790 kg of animal products and various foods were destroyed; 2,189 various food products; 4,513 shampoo packages; 25 shampoo bottles; 25 boxes of counterfeit branded toothpaste; 47 boxes of concrete screws; 91 agricultural machinery spare parts bearings; 540 various cosmetic products; and 99 counterfeit branded glasses were temporarily seized.

The main violations are: Violations of counterfeit trademark goods; violations of goods of unknown origin; violations of food safety; violations of mixing non-medicinal products with drugs in the case of additional business of functional foods; acts of trading in pesticides without a certificate of trading in pesticides.

Authorities handle a facility trading frozen chicken meat of unknown origin in Vi Xuyen district.

The peak period of inspection, supervision and handling of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and intellectual property infringement will last until June 15.

In addition to inspection and supervision, the Ha Giang Provincial Market Management Department also strengthens propaganda and dissemination of relevant legal regulations on smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights to raise awareness and sense of law compliance of organizations and individuals.

From there, it creates a ripple effect so that people actively and proactively participate in denouncing acts of smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods trading in e-commerce activities.
