Stepping out of the exam site of Tran Phu High School, Do Nguyen Minh Chau (student of Chuong Duong Middle School, Hoan Kiem District) breathed a sigh of relief after completing the Foreign Language exam.
"This year, most of the content in the Foreign Language exam is quite basic, closely following the knowledge of structure and grammar mentioned in the textbook. Therefore, when I received the exam, I was not too worried but kept calm, taking advantage of the 60 minutes given to do and review the test," Minh Chau said.
According to Minh Chau, one of the interesting points of this year's Foreign Language exam is that some of the questions incorporate everyday scenes, creating a sense of closeness.
"The hardest part for me was that the test included some new vocabulary and advanced vocabulary. Although it took me a lot of time to do this part, I relied on the context of the conversation and the suggested vocabulary in the question to find the answer," Minh Chau said.
Minh Chau predicted that her Foreign Language test score would be around 9 points. This score was also the expectation she set before taking the 10th grade entrance exam this year.
As for Bao Anh, a candidate taking the exam at Tran Phu High School, she said that although she did well in the Literature exam in the morning, in the afternoon she felt quite regretful because she did not do her best in the Foreign Language exam.
"Although I'm a bit sad, my mood has gradually improved. I will focus and try to do well in Math tomorrow," Bao Anh expressed.

With her mother waiting for her at the exam site early, Le Kieu Anh (student of Trung Vuong Secondary School, Hoan Kiem District) smiled brightly when she met her relatives.
"Entering this exam, I was a bit nervous but still tried to do well in both subjects on the first day of the exam. For me, the Foreign Language exam this afternoon was both easy and difficult. The easy part was in the reading comprehension section as this section had many questions at the recognition and understanding level. The difficult part was in the 'punching' type of question. It took me a lot of time to complete the questions related to word types," Kieu Anh shared with reporters.
Looking back at both exams of the day, Literature and Foreign Language, Kieu Anh said she was more confident in the Literature exam.
"Based on my estimated scores for these two subjects, I expect to get 8.5 for the Literature exam and 8 for the Foreign Language exam," Kieu Anh added.
Tomorrow, candidates will take the Math exam. The total time for the Math exam will be 120 minutes, the same as the time for the Literature exam.
For candidates registering for specialized grade 10, they will continue to take the specialized subject exam on June 9.
It is expected that between July 4 and 6, the exam scores and admission scores for 10th graders in Hanoi will be announced. Successful students can confirm their enrollment from July 10 to 12.
