[Video] Journalist Ly Thi Trung: a life devoted to revolutionary journalism

In the heroic flow of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, there is a name that is often mentioned - journalist Ly Thi Trung - a female student of Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School in 1949. This is the first formal journalism training school of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.

Ly Thi Trung's birth name is Nguyen Thi Minh Ngo, born in 1930 in Hung Yen , grew up in a patriotic intellectual family. She was the first female reporter of the journalism class at Huynh Thuc Khang School in 1949.

In 1949, in the mountains and forests of Viet Bac resistance war, the first journalism class of our country was born. She was one of three rare female reporters, trained directly by famous political activists, journalists and writers.

Ms. Ly Thi Trung and Mr. Vuong Nhu Chiem met each other while studying at Huynh Thuc Khang's journalism class. That school became the cradle that nurtured not only knowledge but also a good relationship. From a pure friendship, the two gradually bonded, shared, and then became husband and wife. Notably, their wedding ceremony was officiated by Journalist Xuan Thuy, a revolutionary and Vice Principal of the school. As a silent but profound gratitude, the couple named their first son Vuong Hoc Bao to commemorate their parents' relationship, with the hope that he would continue the spirit of studiousness, live a life of love, and not forget the origin of love and ideals.

She was active in the press industry throughout the two resistance wars, both as a writer and in propaganda and organization. Every page and every line of news she wrote was imbued with fighting spirit, encouraging people to believe in victory.

In 1986, at the age of 56, she was assigned to organize the publication of the Capital Women's Newspaper (the mouthpiece of the Hanoi Women's Union) and became the person in charge of the newspaper. Under her leadership and the efforts of the entire editorial board, the newspaper quickly affirmed its position and identity.

Ms. Ly Thi Trung is not only a journalist but also a writer, poet, and member of the Vietnam Writers Association. In life, she is a woman of great courage, living in harmony and close to her colleagues and the next generation. Even though she is retired, she is still passionate about reading, writing, and inspiring young journalists.

Her life and career are exemplary models of personality and devotion to writing to serve the Fatherland and the people.
