October is the time when industrial production enterprises take advantage of the golden time, focus resources, boost production to ensure export orders and meet people's increasing year-end shopping needs.
According to Hanoi Statistics, some key industries increased sharply compared to the previous month and the same period last year, such as: Production of leather and leather products increased by 13.8% compared to the previous month and increased by 8.9% compared to the same period last year; production of motor vehicles increased by 10.9% and increased by 20.2%; production of food processing increased by 7.2% and increased by 7.1%; production of means of transport increased by 6.2% and increased by 3.8%; production of electronic products and computers increased by 5.5% and increased by 20.5%.

In the first 10 months of 2025, most processing and manufacturing industries achieved high growth compared to the same period last year.
In October 2025, the industrial production index (IIP) is estimated to increase by 0.8% over the previous month and by 8.3% over the same period in 2024, of which: Processing and manufacturing industry increased by 1.5% and 8.6%; electricity production and distribution decreased by 3.1% and increased by 7%; water supply and waste and wastewater treatment decreased by 5.8% and increased by 4.4%; mining industry decreased by 3.0% and increased by 5.2%.
It is estimated that in the first 10 months of 2025, the industrial production index will increase by 6.9% over the same period in 2024, of which the processing and manufacturing industry will increase by 7.0%; water supply and waste and wastewater treatment will increase by 6.6%; electricity production and distribution will increase by 5.5%; and mining will decrease by 2.5%.
In the first 10 months of 2025, most of the processing and manufacturing industries achieved high growth rates compared to the same period last year, such as: Motor vehicle production increased by 17.9%; non-metallic mineral product production increased by 14.2%; leather and leather product production increased by 11.3%; electronic product and computer production increased by 10.4%; metal production increased by 9.7%; garment production increased by 9.2%; chemical and chemical product production increased by 8.8%; drug, pharmaceutical, medicinal material production and beverage production both increased by 8.0%... Besides, 2/23 manufacturing industries had IIP index decrease compared to the same period: Bed, wardrobe, table and chair production decreased by 1.7%; electrical equipment production decreased by 1.6%.
According to statistics, the labor utilization index of Hanoi industrial enterprises in the first 10 months of 2025 decreased by 0.7% compared to the same period in 2024 (the reason for the decrease was due to the closure of 1 factory by Zamil Vietnam Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings Co., Ltd.), in which the number of employees working in the State sector decreased by 0.9%; the non-State sector decreased by 3.3%; enterprises in the foreign-invested sector increased by 1%.
