The wonders of the future are being built today
Different from traditional “livable city” or “smart city” rankings, New7Wonders’ “7 Future Urban Wonders” aims at the architectural icons of the 21st century.
According to New7Wonders, the voting criteria include: sustainable planning, green technology, smart governance, social connection and global contribution.
“With ‘7 Urban Wonders of the Future’, we are expanding our mission from celebrating humanity’s heritage to celebrating our vision. The wonders of the future are being created today – from the choices, creativity and courage of urban planning pioneers,” said Bernard Weber, Founder and Chairman of New7Wonders.

In the preliminary nomination list, it is not difficult to recognize contemporary smart and sustainable urban icons: Tianjin Eco-City (China), The Sustainable City (Dubai), Oxagon (Saudi Arabia), Lusail City (Qatar), Belmont (USA)...
And among those names, Vietnam attracts attention with the Vinhomes Green Paradise project - a typical representative of the ESG++ model, developing in harmony between nature, people and technology, towards a comprehensive sustainable urban area.
Vinhomes Green Paradise: National symbol and opportunity to create new miracles
According to experts, Vietnam’s participation in Vinhomes Green Paradise is an inevitable step in the journey towards a green future. The project fully meets, even surpasses, the criteria set by New7Wonders for a “future urban wonder”.
“Vinhomes Green Paradise defines a life of absolute quality from service to emotion, defining smart urban life, applying high technology. That is the new value of life for humanity,” said Architect Khuong Van Muoi, former Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Architects.
Vinhomes Green Paradise has a scale of 2,870 hectares, leaning against the UNESCO-recognized Mangrove Biosphere Reserve and facing the Pacific Ocean . This rare location helps the project become a unique blue-sea urban model, both expanding the development space towards the sea and creating a sustainable growth pole for Ho Chi Minh City, similar to Dubai or Singapore.
The project is planned with the philosophy of “taking people and nature as the center”, paralleling development and conservation. In which, 100% of the operating energy is from renewable sources. Green transportation, smart infrastructure and closed ecological planning are comprehensively integrated.
During the construction phase, the project applies advanced landfill technology, environmentally friendly materials, and strict control processes to minimize ecological impact, meeting "Smart Infrastructure" standards.
In particular, ESG++, an upgraded model from traditional ESG, adding two pillars of Regeneration and Resilience, is the core difference that helps the project exceed the "Sustainability Vision" standard of New7Wonders.
This “ESG passport” not only opens the door to economic integration, but is also a commitment to responsibility for the future, the environment, and future generations , said Mr. Bui Van Doanh, Director of the Vietnam Real Estate Research Institute.

More than just a super real estate project, Vinhomes Green Paradise is positioned as a global destination city, where local identity and Vietnamese traditions blend with international lifestyle.
The project brings together iconic structures, such as: Paradise Lagoon artificial lake of over 800 hectares - the largest in the world ; 108-storey tower - Top 10 in the world; 7-hectare Blue Wave Theater - considered as "Vietnamese version of Sydney Opera House"; 2 18-hole golf courses; 5-star international cruise port Landmark Habour; resort hotel complex with nearly 7,000 rooms, the largest in Vietnam; 122-hectare entertainment complex... These items are expected to bring 40 million visitors each year, affirming the project's stature as a "global destination city" - meeting the "Global Impact" criteria.
In parallel, Vingroup is also a community-based urban area with a diverse system of schools, hospitals, theme parks, and especially the high-end retirement and nursing home model Vin New Horizon, a pioneer in creating a balanced, humane and complete living environment for all generations.
This combination helps Vinhomes Green Paradise exceed many criteria of New7Wonders, when it is not only a "livable city", but also a "connected city", "inspiring city" - where planning, technology and human values are placed on equal footing.
Although the results are still ahead, Vinhomes Green Paradise’s presence in the nomination list is enough to affirm Vietnam’s new step forward in thinking about modern, sustainable and humane urban development. From the natural heritage of Can Gio, a “future urban wonder” is gradually taking shape, symbolizing the intelligence, global vision and aspiration to create a better world of the Vietnamese people.
“This is not just a vote but a declaration of vision and belief in the future that Vietnam is creating for itself,” said Mr. Tran Tuong Huy, Deputy Director of the Institute for Social Tourism Research.
With the victory of Ha Long Bay in the 2011 “New 7 Wonders of Nature” vote, we have the right to hope that Vietnam will create a new miracle with Vinhomes Green Paradise.
