Can Tho City Electricity Company is managing and operating 27 110kV transformer stations, with a total capacity of more than 2,017MVA along with more than 7,434km of medium voltage lines and over 13,382km of low voltage lines... With the existing grid infrastructure system, the electricity industry ensures to meet the electricity demand for production, business and daily life of more than 1.11 million electricity customers in the city.
After the merger, Can Tho City has increased in area and population, becoming the center of industry, logistics, trade - services, high-tech agriculture... of the Mekong Delta region, which leads to an increasing demand for electricity consumption. To ensure enough electricity to serve the needs of socio -economic growth of the city, in 2025, the electricity sector has mobilized resources to invest in developing the power system structure in communes and wards. In the first 9 months of 2025, the electricity sector has put into operation 5 110kV station projects, with a total investment of over 468 billion VND; at the same time, put into use 29 power grid projects, with more than 600km of medium-voltage lines and nearly 2,700km of low-voltage lines, with a total investment of over 737 billion VND... contributing to increasing the quality of electricity supply, serving people's lives as well as promoting local socio-economic development.
Along with new construction investment, in the first 9 months of 2025, Can Tho City Electricity Company carried out major repairs of 76 110kV and 22kV transformer stations and distribution transformer stations... Mr. Nguyen Minh Quang, Deputy Director of High Voltage Grid Enterprise (Can Tho City Electricity Company), said: In addition to focusing on investing in new 110kV transformer stations and connection lines, replacing new transformers, the electricity industry also increased the capacity of transformers at operating stations, especially in industrial parks, clusters and residential areas, to promptly meet the increased load demand for these areas. Currently, the unit has registered a construction investment plan for 2026, increasing the capacity of 2 transformers in the central area of Thot Not... to meet the increasing load demand as well as increase the quality of electricity, serving the daily needs and expanding local production and business activities.
To meet the requirements of stable power supply in the last months of 2025, Can Tho City Power Company has been implementing plans to ensure power supply. Specifically, strengthening the inspection and timely handling of defects on the power grid, clearing to ensure safety of power line corridors; implementing well the priority power maintenance plans, providing safe and stable power to locations of important events in the city; fully preparing materials, equipment, human resources, quickly handling incidents; coordinating with the Customer Care Center of Southern Power Corporation (EVNSCP) to receive power outage reports; organizing repairs and quickly restoring power to customers; paying attention to performing well the periodic repair and maintenance of the power grid system managed by the unit, ensuring the power grid is operated safely even in conditions of high load... ensuring the efficiency of continuous and reliable power supply.
In addition, from now until the end of 2025, Can Tho City Electricity Company together with other sectors and levels will continue to accelerate the construction progress of electricity projects that have been and are being implemented in the area. Along with the development of the power grid infrastructure system, the Company will continue to promote the application of digital technology in customer care services, gradually increasing the level of customer satisfaction with existing services of the electricity industry.
