Of which, international tourists grew strongly, more than double compared to the same period in 2023 with 39,000 arrivals, domestic tourists reached 148,000 arrivals, an increase of 6% over the same period.
Total revenue from tourists reached 725 billion VND, up 32.9% over the same period in 2023.
The Hanoi tourism industry welcomed a large number of tourists in the first days of the new year of Giap Thin, so the average room occupancy rate of 1-5 star accommodation establishments reached 50.4%, up 10.1% over the same period. In particular, the number of visitors staying in Hanoi for sightseeing during the Tet holiday mainly came from Korea, China, Taiwan, the US, India, etc.
Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said that organizing a series of activities and events lasting throughout the Lunar New Year has allowed tourists to come to the capital to experience the traditional Tet atmosphere of the Northern Delta region.
Tourist areas and attractions in the city continue to organize cultural and artistic activities, especially on New Year's Eve at the Hoan Kiem Lake Cultural Information Center; traditional music and art performances in wards in Hanoi's Old Quarter last from the 2nd to the 5th day of Tet.
The restructuring of Hanoi's tourism products and the organization of many cultural activities to welcome a significant number of visitors to the capital during the Tet holiday is a good sign, creating momentum for tourism recovery in 2023.
