Hanoi records 5 hand, foot and mouth disease outbreaks in districts in one week

The Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC) reported that last week, Hanoi recorded 191 more cases of hand, foot and mouth disease, a decrease of 12 cases compared to the previous week.

Accumulated from the beginning of 2025 to present, Hanoi city has recorded 976 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease, an increase of 391 cases compared to the same period in 2024.

5 outbreaks of hand, foot and mouth disease were recorded this week in the following districts: Ba Vi, Nam Tu Liem, Phuc Tho, Hoai Duc. In 2025, Hanoi recorded 18 outbreaks of hand, foot and mouth disease, with 9 outbreaks currently active in the following districts: Nam Tu Liem, Ba Vi, Hoai Duc, Ha Dong, Phuc Tho.

Faced with the above situation, Hanoi CDC has coordinated with units to monitor the prevention of measles and hand, foot and mouth disease in Dai Mo, Nam Tu Liem and Giang Bien, Long Bien.

In addition, the Hanoi Department of Health directed to strengthen coordination between the health sector and the education sector in monitoring, preventing, and handling cases and outbreaks of measles, hand, foot and mouth disease... in schools; Coordinate the implementation of vaccination in schools.

Along with that, the Hanoi Department of Health also requested units to increase information and propaganda about the epidemic situation and measures to prevent measles and hand, foot and mouth disease; Functional units propagate people to proactively get vaccinated fully and on schedule and respond to additional vaccination campaigns deployed by the health sector./.
