Immediately after receiving the news, the Hanoi City Police Command Information Center mobilized the Fire Fighting and Rescue Teams of Area 31 and Area 13 (Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department) to dispatch 4 specialized fire trucks and 24 officers and soldiers to quickly go to the scene to coordinate with the Ward Police force to deploy fire fighting and rescue work.
At the scene, the authorities determined that the fire broke out in the kitchen area on the first floor of the 5-story building and that many people were still trapped inside. The fire commander immediately deployed a plan to guide the victims to move to the roof by stairs; at the same time, deployed a fire fighting team to promptly control the fire from spreading to the upper floors and neighboring houses.
After more than 40 minutes of effort, at about 2:40, the fire was completely extinguished. The Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police used a specialized ladder truck to approach and bring 5 people (including 2 adults and 3 children) to a safe place, in stable health.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated and clarified by the authorities according to regulations.
