Hanoi: 100% inspection of the handling of denunciations and reports of crimes

Reporting at the meeting, Director of the Hanoi People's Procuracy Dao Thinh Cuong said that the political security situation and social order and safety in Hanoi continued to be maintained stable. The People's Procuracy at two levels of the city closely coordinated with judicial agencies and local authorities to promptly and promptly resolve emerging and outstanding issues, ensuring compliance with the provisions of law. The investigation agency has initiated 8,840 new cases/14,165 defendants, a decrease of 2,458 cases/2,241 defendants compared to the same period in 2024 (down 21.7%).

The People's Procuracy at two levels has supervised 100% of the acceptance and settlement of denunciations, reports of crimes and recommendations for prosecution by the investigation agency; supervised 22,237 denunciations, reports of crimes and recommendations for prosecution received by the investigation agency, of which 13,550 were newly accepted (a decrease of 5,843 reports, a rate of 30% compared to the same period in 2024), and resolved 20,664 reports, reaching a rate of 93% (an increase of 4.7% compared to the same period), of which 8,760 reports were prosecuted, 6,193 reports were not prosecuted, and 5,711 reports were temporarily suspended; there were no cases resolved overdue.

The People's Procuracy at two levels issued 10,535 requests for inspection and verification of denunciations and crime reports, ensuring that 100% of them had verification requests from the Procuracy. The People's Procuracy at two levels conducted 18 direct inspections at investigation agencies and agencies assigned to conduct a number of investigation activities. The People's Procuracy at two levels issued 50 recommendations to remedy violations and 43 recommendations to prevent violations and crimes; the acceptance rate reached 100%, meeting the industry target.

Performing well the task of supervising judicial activities in the criminal field, ensuring smoothness and efficiency, especially in the process of changing the organizational structure of judicial agencies, leading to changes and additions in functions, tasks, and procedural procedures.
