Hanoi launches tour "Duyen Thai handicraft village art"

According to information from the People's Committee of Thuong Tin district, currently in the district, the City People's Committee has recognized 4 tourist attractions including: Hong Van ornamental plant craft village tourist destination, Ha Thai lacquer craft village, Thuy Ung horn craft village and Van Diem high-class carpentry village tourist destination.

Although the city has recognized a number of tourist attractions, attracting tourists has encountered many difficulties due to the lack of a specific tour. The development of the tourism program “Duyen Thai Craft Village Art” will create opportunities for the villagers to introduce the unique values ​​of the two crafts of lacquerware and votive paper making in Ha Thai and Phuc Am villages (Duyen Thai commune) to tourists.

Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Thuong Tin district, Tran Thi Lan, said that Phuc Am is a village famous for its production of votive paper and offerings associated with the spiritual culture and practice of worshiping the Mother Goddesses of the Three Realms of the Vietnamese people (recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage in 2016).

Ha Thai lacquer craft village has existed and developed for more than 200 years, producing according to manual technology, using natural materials to create products with high durability and eye-catching colors. "The tourism program "Duyen Thai Craft Village Art" is not only an opportunity for villagers to promote their products, but also an opportunity to develop a sustainable economy based on cultural and artistic values" - Ms. Lan clearly stated.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of the tourism program "Duyen Thai Craft Village Art", Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu said: Hanoi has 1,350 craft villages and villages with occupations, converging 47/52 occupations in the total number of traditional occupations in the country.

Implementing Program No. 06-CTr/TU dated March 17, 2021 of the City Party Committee on "Cultural development, improving the quality of human resources, building elegant and civilized Hanoians in the period of 2021-2025", the Department of Tourism deploys the development of unique experiential tourism products associated with the values ​​of heritage - relics and craft villages along the tourist route "South Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Road" in Thanh Tri, Thuong Tin and Phu Xuyen districts in 2024.
