Attending the event were Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association Nguyen Minh Triet; Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Hanoi Party Committee Vu Ha; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huu Hue - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Council of the University of Water Resources; Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union Chu Hong Minh and nearly 1,000 union members and youth.
With the goal of "Youth of the Capital volunteering for community life" and the motto "Shocking - Creative - Safe - Effective", the 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign takes place from April to August with 1 program and 4 key campaigns: Supporting exam season, Green Summer, Red Flamboyant, Pink Vacation and Green March.
Speaking at the launch program, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Student Association of Hanoi Nguyen Tien Hung said: The 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign has officially launched - bringing with it the exciting atmosphere, spirit of dedication and aspiration for action of the youth of the capital.
The campaign aims to mobilize 250,000 union members and young people to participate in a series of activities on building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, environmental protection, digital transformation of the community, caring for children, and ensuring social security.
“This year, the campaign has a special meaning... As a dynamic and technology-sensitive force, union members and young people have the responsibility to constantly learn and spread the desire to contribute, turning technology into a practical tool, helping people, building a digital community, a digital society and leading the country forward in the digital age,” emphasized comrade Nguyen Tien Hung.
At the launching ceremony, the Hanoi Youth Union launched 10 specialized city-level teams, coordinating a force of 15,000 city-level volunteers.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, a series of response activities took place: Deploying a "Mobile Digital Education" point to support people in installing VNeID, iHanoi; visiting and supporting families of children in difficult circumstances, visiting the Dong Da District Friendship Children's Home; launching environmental sanitation and disease prevention propaganda in residential areas.
10 targets in the 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign:
1. Organize 250,000 youth union members to participate in volunteer activities implemented by the Youth Union and Association.
2. Support to eliminate 20 temporary and dilapidated houses for meritorious people, people under national target programs and people in difficult circumstances.
3. Renovate, invest in, and support the construction of at least 100 activity and entertainment spots for children, youth projects, and projects for beloved juniors.
4. Plant at least 100,000 new trees.
5. Repair at least 90 km and build at least 30 km of new rural roads.
6. 100% of grassroots unions have at least 1 "Digital Literacy" team; Support digital capacity building for at least 300,000 youth and people.
7. Organize for 80,000 young people to participate in activities to support foreign language proficiency improvement and international integration.
8. Support at least 20,000 children in difficult circumstances.
9. At least 100,000 children are trained in drowning and injury prevention.
10. Strive to recruit 3,000 new members; introduce 300 outstanding members, and recruit 100 party members from outstanding members.
