The above information was announced by Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong at the conference on guiding the exam supervision for the 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year on June 3.
Accordingly, the three new high schools are located in Cau Giay district, Dong Anh district and Thanh Tri district. These three schools can enroll about 1,500 students.
The Department plans to allow these schools to recruit students in excess. However, the Department will consider surrounding districts and counties near the school, so that students can move conveniently. This is accompanied by entrance requirements.

According to the Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the project to build schools is currently in the final stages of completion for immediate use. When the schools are officially operational, the Department will calculate a suitable enrollment plan that will facilitate students, ensure the quality of the enrollment source, and ensure fairness.
The construction of additional schools will increase the rate of students wishing to study at public high schools, meeting the expectations of the people of the capital, contributing to reducing the pressure of the 10th grade entrance exam.
Currently, Hanoi has 119 public high schools, more than 100 private high schools and a number of other types of schools (autonomous public schools, jointly managed public schools, vocationaleducation centers, continuing education centers, international schools). For many years, the capital has always faced a shortage of public high schools, making the 10th grade entrance exam fiercely competitive.
This year, of the approximately 127,000 Hanoi junior high school graduates, more than 103,000 candidates registered for the public 10th grade exam. The exam took place over two days, June 7-8, with three subjects: Math, Literature, and Foreign Language; students taking the specialized school exam will take an additional specialized subject on June 9.
It is expected that around July 4-6, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will simultaneously announce the exam scores and grade 10 benchmark scores. Successful candidates will confirm their enrollment from July 10-12.
