Hanoi accelerates transfer of advanced medical technology

Training high-quality medical human resources; building a smart medical system; developing cooperation with potential partners such as: USA, France, Germany, Russia, Japan, China, Korea, Singapore…; international medical organizations; the world's leading medical technology corporations.

The Hanoi People's Committee issued a Plan with 4 key contents to promote the transfer of highly applicable and potential medical technologies, developed on the basis of applying core technologies of the 4th industrial revolution such as: Artificial intelligence AI in medicine; smart medical devices and sensors; regenerative medicine and 3D printing technology; genetic technology and gene editing; nanotechnology in medicine; Blockchain in medical data management; virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality AR in medicine and specialized medical engineering technologies such as endoscopic surgery, organ transplantation, cancer, cardiovascular, neurology - spine, ...

Establish and expand international integration and cooperation activities on technology transfer in the medical field: Sign and implement international agreements and cooperation programs with foreign partners on scientific research, application and technology transfer in the medical field.

Participate in regional and international organizations and networks on scientific research, technology application and development, innovation, and at the same time, expand forms of cooperation with international agencies and organizations in scientific research, technology application and transfer.

Strengthen international cooperation in training, coaching, fostering, and exchanging experiences in the application and transfer of medical technology: Establish training, coaching, fostering, research, and international academic exchange programs domestically and abroad;

Develop mechanisms and policies to attract foreign scientists, experts and lecturers to exchange academic knowledge, train, teach, coach and provide consulting support on technology transfer at hospitals and medical facilities;

Organize and participate in international conferences, seminars and events on science, technology and innovation; strengthen the implementation of exchange programs on scientific research and technology application between medical staff, experts, researchers, lecturers and students at hospitals, medical facilities and medical training facilities in Hanoi city with foreign partners operating in the medical field;

Access and exploit short-term and long-term medical scholarship, training and development programs domestically and internationally through information channels of foreign diplomatic missions, international organizations...

Promote the attraction and effective use of resources from foreign countries and international partners for research, application and technology transfer activities in the health sector: Develop mechanisms and policies to enhance international cooperation, encourage foreign investment attraction, and protect intellectual property rights for research, application and technology transfer activities;

Develop a list of projects calling for foreign investment in research, application and technology transfer activities; combine introducing and promoting research, application and transfer of medical and pharmaceutical technology at investment, trade and tourism promotion programs and events at home and abroad.

Assign the Department of Health: Direct and guide affiliated units to develop international cooperation plans on research, application and technology transfer according to the functions and tasks of the unit.

At the same time, coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Finance, Office of the City People's Committee and relevant units to review and propose mechanisms and policies to encourage international cooperation, attract foreign resources for research activities, application and technology transfer in the fields of health and pharmaceuticals.
