On June 3, the Hanoi Department of Health announced that it had just issued a document to the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities, the Hanoi Center for Disease Control, and public and non-public medical examination and treatment facilities regarding the continued strengthening of epidemic prevention and control work under the direction of the City People's Committee.

According to the Hanoi Department of Health, currently, the infectious disease situation in the world and in Vietnam continues to develop in a complicated and unpredictable manner; erratic weather conditions combined with increased demand for tourism and travel during the peak summer of 2025 create favorable conditions for infectious diseases to spread and break out.

To proactively implement the work of preventing and combating infectious diseases, focusing on dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, COVID-19 and diseases that are at risk of occurring during the rainy, stormy and flood season, the Department of Health requires the Hanoi Center for Disease Control to closely monitor the situation of infectious diseases in the world, in Vietnam and in Hanoi.

The Department of Health requested the Hanoi Center for Disease Control to regularly assess the risk of epidemics in the city to promptly advise on appropriate epidemic prevention measures, not allowing the epidemic to spread widely in the city, affecting people's health.

Units continue to strengthen medical quarantine work at Noi Bai International Airport (especially monitoring the health of passengers coming from countries/regions with outbreaks of dangerous diseases such as Mers-CoV, Marburg...); coordinate with relevant units to strengthen epidemic surveillance work at medical facilities and in the community to detect early, organize isolation, promptly handle epidemic cases, control the spread and limit cases of serious illness and death due to epidemics.

The Department of Health requests units to proactively coordinate with relevant units to implement gene sequencing tests to identify the SARS-CoV-2 virus strain causing the disease circulating in the city to assess the risk of the epidemic and advise on epidemic prevention and control solutions appropriate to the practical situation; Proactively advise and direct, guide medical centers and medical stations to organize proactive epidemic prevention activities during the peak campaign in June and July 2025 to proactively prevent and control dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, COVID-19 and diseases that may occur in rainy and flood conditions (such as pink eye, diarrhea, etc.).

The Hanoi Center for Disease Control needs to proactively organize training, education, and capacity building for medical staff on monitoring, detecting, and investigating people with infectious diseases; monitoring pathogens and measures to handle outbreaks to ensure readiness to respond to epidemic situations occurring in the city...

Public and non-public medical examination and treatment facilities in the city need to seriously implement the contents according to the direction of the Department of Health, seriously and fully and promptly report information on infectious disease cases./.
