On November 10, Hanoi City Police held a conference to disseminate and deploy the 60-day and night peak plan to review and clean up vehicle registration data and driver's licenses.

Nearly 8 million vehicle data, 130,000 driving licenses were reviewed
According to the plan, Hanoi City Police must conduct a comprehensive review and clean up of nearly 8 million vehicle data, more than 130,000 driver's license data, and digitize all 8 million vehicle registration records under management. Initial statistics show that there are 3,896,641 cases where vehicle owner information matches the National Population Database, and 3,871,031 cases that need to be further cross-checked, supplemented, and verified directly via the iHanoi application or at the place of residence.
For 27,001 cars that have expired or are no longer in circulation, the Traffic Police Department has updated the vehicle registration system and notified local police to separate the original records and manage them separately according to regulations. With driver's license data, about 130,000 cases will be cleaned and updated, including paper-based motorcycle driving licenses that are not yet on the electronic system.
The peak period will be implemented continuously for 60 days and nights, from November 1 to December 31, 2025, with the spirit of "working during the day is not enough, so work at night" to ensure completion on schedule.

iHanoi application creates a breakthrough in digital transformation of vehicle registration work
Regarding iHanoi, Mr. Cu Ngoc Trang, Director of the Hanoi Public Administration Service Center, said that iHanoi has nearly 6 million users and is gradually being developed according to the model of "one application - all services". To serve the 60-day peak period, the Center has integrated the process of collecting, checking and cleaning data right on the iHanoi platform, connecting directly with the vehicle management system and driving license of the Ministry of Public Security ; applying artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically extract, compare, standardize data, minimize errors in the synthesis process; ensure a safe and secure storage infrastructure, fully meeting the technical standards in processing big data of the City.
iHanoi is not only a tool, but also a "digital citizen data ecosystem" of the Capital, helping people and management agencies exploit and share information in a smart, accurate and transparent way.
At the conference, Major General Nguyen Hong Ky, Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police, emphasized: “Hanoi is the only locality that pioneers in applying information technology to the method of collecting and cleaning vehicle registration data, driver's licenses and digitizing vehicle registration records. This is a new way to save time and costs, improve accuracy and transparency in management.”

Hanoi Police have coordinated with the City Public Administration Service Center to convert from manual collection to information technology application through the iHanoi platform. This method helps to significantly reduce workload, save printing costs, shorten document processing time, and especially increase accuracy when cross-checking data between systems.
For the plan to be effective, Major General Nguyen Hong Ky requested grassroots units to strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to install and self-declare vehicle information and driver's licenses via the iHanoi application. Communes, wards and towns need to coordinate with the Community Digital Transformation Team to widely propagate to each residential group, residential area and household, creating consensus, support and cooperation of people in the implementation process.
In addition, the Deputy Director of the City Police also called on officers and soldiers to take the lead in declaring and setting an example in data collection, while closely following the daily progress, contributing to completing the target early.
“Cleaning” vehicle and driver’s license data is not only a technical activity, but also an important step in building an e- Government , towards a digital Government. A unified, synchronized and accurate database will help reduce administrative procedures, improve management capacity, strengthen monitoring and prevent traffic violations early and remotely.
With the high determination of the Capital Police force and the companionship of the people, Hanoi is affirming its pioneering role in the digital transformation process in the field of traffic management, contributing to building a Smart City - modern management - serving the people.
