Localities closely monitor and organize rabies vaccination for dogs and cats.

In order to strengthen rabies prevention in Hai Duong province, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requests the People's Committees at the district level to direct specialized agencies and the People's Committees at the commune level to accurately count the number of households raising dogs and cats; instruct and request the owners of dog and cat raising households to commit to strictly declaring and complying with the keeping of dogs and cats within the family premises, so as not to affect the surrounding people. Vaccinate dogs and cats against rabies according to regulations.

Strengthen information and propaganda about the harmful effects of rabies, signs of rabies in animals; measures to prevent rabies to each family that owns dogs and cats. Enhance the responsibility of dog and cat owners to the community. Encourage the community to participate in monitoring, detecting and notifying local authorities, veterinary and medical agencies about cases of dogs, cats and animals suspected of having rabies for timely handling. Avoid cases where people bitten by dogs do not seek preventive treatment but instead seek out traditional healers, leading to death.

The provincial Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department organizes rabies vaccination for dogs and cats, ensuring a vaccination rate of over 80% of the total herd that must be vaccinated; regularly checks and provides additional vaccinations to avoid missing dogs and cats. Establish a team to capture all stray dogs and cats; those whose owners do not comply with rabies vaccination according to regulations.

The People's Committee of Chi Linh City has strengthened the direction of specialized units, People's Committees of wards and communes to develop plans to prevent and respond to rabies epidemics in humans and animals. Vaccinate all dogs and cats that must be vaccinated against rabies. Advise people to strictly implement the confinement of dogs and cats and not let them roam freely...

Recently, the Center for Disease Control of Hai Duong province conducted an epidemiological investigation and confirmed that the deceased case of rabies was Mr. VVT (49 years old, in Tan Truong village, Le Loi commune, Chi Linh city). Mr. T. contracted rabies after being bitten by a dog.
