Hai Phong selects nearly 1,600 investigators for the 2026 Economic Census

According to Hai Phong City Statistics, the unit has selected nearly 1,600 investigators and supervisors to prepare for the 2026 Economic Census.

The selected investigators are those who have local knowledge and the ability to access production and business establishments to collect accurate information.

The city's statistics office has also completed the listing of individual households in 3,232 localities with 207,090 establishments. At the same time, it is reviewing and cleaning the data before implementing the in-depth sampling survey from January 5, 2026.

Investigators are the force directly conducting the investigation and must also be proficient in using tablets and smartphones to create lists.

Due to the large number of production and business establishments, compiling the list requires many investigators who must be knowledgeable about the area and have the ability to access production and business establishments to collect accurate information.

Therefore, the selected investigation force is mainly the group leaders and deputy group leaders of residential groups, in order to ensure both the necessary quantity and the quality and effectiveness of the census work.

Currently, the City Statistics Office is coordinating with the Commune People's Committee to continue reviewing, checking, and editing some information of individual households such as business locations, business lines, revenue, etc. to clean up data, preparing for the in-depth sampling survey of individual households to be conducted from January 5, 2026.

The 2026 Economic Census will be implemented nationwide to collect basic information on production and business units, serving the development of socio-economic development policies.

The census focuses on 5 groups of information: Identification and type of economy; production and business conditions; production results, revenue, costs; level of application of information technology, digital economy, e-commerce and other specialized information.

Information collection is divided into two phases: from January 5 to March 31, 2026 and from April 1 to August 31, 2026. Preliminary results are expected to be announced in January 2027, and official results in the third quarter of 2027.
