During the State visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, following the official welcoming ceremony, the wife of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, Professor Peng Liyuan, invited the wife of General Secretary and President To Lam, Ms. Ngo Phuong Ly, to enjoy tea and watch a performance of traditional Chinese art.

At the tea party, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly expressed her pleasure at meeting Professor Peng Liyuan; she respectfully conveyed the warm greetings of Mrs. Ngo Thi Man, wife of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, to Professor Peng Liyuan. Professor Peng Liyuan warmly welcomed Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly to China, expressing his pleasure at meeting her and conveying his warm greetings to Mrs. Ngo Thi Man, wife of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. In a friendly and intimate atmosphere, the two ladies exchanged and shared insights into the unique cultures of their respective countries. Professor Peng Liyuan recalled fond memories and positive impressions from his previous visits to Vietnam; he introduced some typical artistic and cultural aspects of China. Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly shared her feelings about the distinctive culture of China. The two ladies had a warm and cordial conversation and tea time.
