Thanh Thuy is highly regarded for her expertise. |
A notable highlight of this year’s opening ceremony was the fact that two outstanding athletes – volleyball middle blocker Le Thanh Thuy and karate fighter Le Minh Thuan – were given the responsibility of holding the flag, representing the 1,165 members of the delegation. This was the first time both had the honor of being chosen to hold the flag, following swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang who was given the same task two years ago.
Le Thanh Thuy is a pillar of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, having participated in the 2015 and 2017 SEA Games, helping the team win silver and bronze medals. She and the team won the AVC Nations Cup 2025, became the runner-up of VTV Cup and SEA V-League stage 1, won the 2nd stage of SEA V-League 2025 and participated in the world championship. With solid expertise and exemplary competitive spirit, Thanh Thuy is one of the faces highly appreciated for both ability and moral qualities.

He is highly appreciated by the coaching staff for his professional skills, competition experience and role in inspiring the young generation of Vietnamese karate.
Currently, both athletes are highly focused with the national team, preparing for important matches at SEA Games 33.
Before the opening day, in addition to the men's and women's football teams that have traveled to Thailand early, the Deputy Heads of Delegation, officials, doctors and some other teams will leave on December 7, ready to embark on the journey to conquer new milestones for Vietnamese sports.
The 33rd SEA Games opens in Bangkok on December 9, promising to be a challenging playground but also an opportunity for Vietnamese athletes to shine in the regional arena.
