Opening ceremony of the 2025 Quang Ninh Province Ethnic Minority Women's Football Tournament - VTV5 Cup.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province, emphasized: The 2025 Quang Ninh Province Women's Ethnic Minority Football Tournament, VTV5 Cup is not only a simple sports activity, but also a solidarity festival, where the traditional values of ethnic minorities are strongly promoted and filled with the aspirations of women in the highlands and ethnic minority areas to enter a new era with the nation.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh delivered the opening speech of the Tournament.

This year's tournament brings together 8 teams with 130 athletes from the provinces of Quang Ninh, Lao Cai and Tuyen Quang representing many ethnic communities. The organizers said that the tournament will be played in the format of 7-a-side football, divided into 2 groups with a total of 15 matches taking place continuously over 5 days (from December 3 to 7).

The female players are from the San Chi, Dao Thanh Y, Dao Thanh Phan, San Diu, Tay ethnic groups... and will compete in their traditional costumes, creating a sports space associated with preserving the cultural identity of the highlands.

The tournament continues to promote sports training among women and promote gender equality.

The opening match of the Tournament was exciting with fierce and beautiful ball fights.

Secretary of the Party Committee of Binh Lieu Commune Nguyen The Minh shared: Each athlete participating in the Tournament is a beautiful story about will, determination, spirit of rising up, and the desire to assert themselves of women in modern life, but still preserving the traditional identity of their nation.

The tournament also aims to raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, socio-political organizations and people about the role of physical exercise and sports. From there, mobilize a large number of people to participate in physical exercise and sports, improve health, physical strength, prevent diseases; build a healthy lifestyle and cultural environment, serve study, work, production, construction and defense of the Fatherland.

A large number of people and tourists came to watch and cheer for the Tournament.

The 2025 Quang Ninh Province Ethnic Minority Women's Football Tournament - VTV5 Cup is truly a healthy playground, connecting the community, affirming the determination of Quang Ninh province in creating an environment for women, youth and highland people to promote their talents, improve their health, encourage highland women to confidently participate in community activities, promote gender equality and spread the sports movement among highland women, honor the cultural colors of ethnic minorities and promote the image of Binh Lieu tourism.

Surely the Tournament will bring exciting matches, beautiful plays, the spirit of "Solidarity - Honesty - Nobility"; becoming a bridge connecting hearts, erasing all distances of geography, language or customs.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the football match between Binh Lieu (Quang Ninh) and Hoa An (Tuyen Quang) took place. The match was broadcast live on VTV5 – Vietnam Television.

This is an activity to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels, the 16th Quang Ninh Provincial Party Congress, towards the 14th National Party Congress; celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Traditional Day (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2025) and promote the sports movement among ethnic minorities.
