Standing Secretariat receives delegation of senior officials of Lao People's Revolutionary Party

On December 3, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, Comrade Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat, received a delegation of senior officials of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party led by Comrade Padeumphone Sonthany, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Salavan Provincial Government Committee, who came to Vietnam to study and exchange topics.

This is an important activity, taking place right after the success of the State visit of General Secretary To Lam and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the 50th Anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic; and co-chair the High-level Meeting between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

At the meeting, comrade Tran Cam Tu affirmed that the visit, taking place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Laos' National Day and the 105th birthday of President Kaysone Phomvihane, has historical, political and humanistic significance, and is an opportunity to review the arduous but glorious journey of the brotherly country of Laos; at the same time, affirm the will for independence, steadfastness and immortal solidarity of the Lao people.

Comrade Tran Cam Tu expressed his excitement and congratulated the positive and comprehensive achievements that the Lao Party, State and people have achieved in 50 years of national construction and 40 years of renovation, especially the good implementation of preparations for the 12th National Party Congress, creating a solid foundation to enter a new development stage; affirmed that Vietnam always strongly supports Laos in the cause of renovation and national development, is ready to share experiences, and gives the highest priority to supporting Laos in implementing strategic issues in the new term.

The Standing Member of the Secretariat emphasized that the two Parties maintain regular exchanges at all levels on theory and practice on a variety of practical topics, which is of special importance. This is not only a vivid demonstration of the close and trusting relationship between the two Parties, but also a forum for joint research and sharing of theoretical achievements and practical experiences in building a streamlined political system to meet the new development requirements of each country.

Comrade Tran Cam Tu expressed his joy at seeing the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic partnership between Vietnam and Laos increasingly developing deeply and extensively in all fields, contributing significantly to maintaining political stability, national defense and security, promoting socio-economic development and enhancing the position of each Party and each country.

He thanked Laos for its great, valuable, sincere and effective support and assistance to Vietnam over the past time. Vietnam will do its utmost together with Laos to preserve, nurture and pass on to the younger generation the loyal and close relationship, which is a strategic task of vital importance to the security and development of each country.

On behalf of the Delegation, comrade Padeumphone Sonthany sincerely thanked comrade Tran Cam Tu for taking the time to meet and share valuable information, demonstrating the loyal and steadfast brotherly affection between the two Parties and two peoples.

He congratulated Vietnam on its great, comprehensive and historic achievements after 40 years of renovation and expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people will continue to gain many new and even greater achievements in the renovation process, successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and successfully organize the 14th National Party Congress.

Comrade Padeumphone Sonthany expressed his joy at the special Laos-Vietnam relationship that is increasingly developing in all fields, bringing practical benefits to the people of each country; he promised to absorb the guidance of Vietnamese leaders, do his best to continue to preserve, cultivate, promote and pass on to future generations this special solidarity relationship.
