Dozens of households in 4 social housing blocks in Bien Hoa asked to return their social housing after being inspected.

(DN) - Dong Nai Housing Business Joint Stock Company, the unit managing and operating 4 social housing apartment blocks in Quang Vinh ward, Bien Hoa city, has just reported on the use of the houses and the absence of residents when the inspection team of the Department of Construction came to work.

According to the company's report, on April 20, 2025, the Department of Construction's inspection team visited 4 social housing apartment blocks in Quang Vinh ward to inspect the users. At the time of the inspection, 270 households were absent, accounting for about 38% of the households subject to inspection.

Immediately after that, the company sent invitations to each absent household asking them to report the reason to the Apartment Management Board. To date, 209 households have come to work and verify the reason for their absence, 30 households have not contacted to report the reason, 5 rent-to-own households have fulfilled their financial obligations, 15 households have returned their houses and 11 households have requested to return their houses in the near future.

Among the households that have not been contacted, some have reported that they are on a business trip and have not yet arranged to return for verification, and some have requested to liquidate and return their apartments in the near future. For households that have not been contacted for verification, the company will continue to send invitations, contact them directly for verification, and will have a report in the near future.

Also according to Dong Nai Housing Business Joint Stock Company, as of May 9, 2025, at this social housing apartment building, there are 43 vacant apartments, returned and are being requested to be returned. Of these, 32 are vacant and returned, and 11 are requested to be returned in the coming time.

Previously, the Department of Construction issued Conclusion No. 01/KL-SXD dated April 26, 2025 on the inspection of the implementation of legal regulations on management, use, rental, and hire-purchase of social housing in Bien Hoa city. This conclusion shows that there are 13 vacant apartments and 3 apartments about to be returned. Thus, compared to the time of issuing the inspection conclusion notice, the number of apartments returned and requested to be returned has increased by 26.

On May 12, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha requested the Department of Construction to report back on 366 absentee cases (accounting for more than 40% of the cases subject to inspection) this weekend when the inspection team of the Department of Construction came to work at 4 social housing projects in Bien Hoa city. In case of detecting misuse of the subjects, previously the correct subjects but now having other housing but still deliberately occupying social housing, it is proposed to revoke it, and at the same time, request the agency or unit employing civil servants and public employees to take appropriate measures.
