Thousands of people attend the Hawthorn flower festival in Ngoc Chien commune

NDO - On March 15, in Ngoc Chien commune, Muong La district, Son La province, the 2024 Son Tra flower festival took place with many cultural and artistic activities imbued with the identity of the Northwest ethnic group.

The festival attracted thousands of tourists and local people to attend, along with representatives of some departments and branches of Son La province and cooperatives and tourism businesses.

Ngoc Chien Commune, Muong La District, Son La Province, is located at an altitude of more than 1,600m above sea level, 40km from the center of Muong La District and nearly 80km from Son La City along Provincial Road 106. This is where the Thai, H'Mong and La Ha ethnic groups live.

Attending the Hawthorn flower festival in Ngoc Chien commune were also representatives from Tu Le commune, Van Chan district and Nam Khat commune, Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province.

From Luot village, the community tourism center combines hot mineral spring bathing to Nam Nghep village, just over 10km away but at an altitude of more than 2,000m above sea level, the weather is cold and has a clear difference.

The Son Tra area in Nam Nghep village is over 1,600 hectares wide and is considered the largest growing area in the country, creating a majestic and poetic landscape. When the flowers are in full bloom, the whole space is filled with the pure white color of Son Tra flowers.

Ngoc Chien commune's Hawthorn flower festival has many cultural and artistic activities imbued with the identity of ethnic groups in the Northwest region.

During the festival, visitors will be able to participate in many interesting activities such as: admiring and taking photos with the Son Tra flower forest; participating in traditional folk games of the H'Mong ethnic group; enjoying specialties of the Northwest mountainous region.

Tourists can also learn about the culture and customs of the local people; visit booths of agricultural products, culture, local OCOP products; organize a contest for families with beautiful hawthorn flower gardens; the beauty of H'Mong ethnic costumes in the fairyland and ethnic cuisine...

During the Hawthorn flower festival in Ngoc Chien commune, there is also a beauty contest of the H'Mong ethnic costumes of the fairyland.
