VOV.VN - On October 18, the second "Vietnamese Goods Week" event in 2024 was inaugurated in Collérien city, 30 km from Paris, continuing to introduce and affirm the position of made-in-Vietnam goods to French friends. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang affirmed that the promotion activities, art performances and many practical culinary experiences in the Goods Week event will help French friends have the opportunity to explore and better understand the culture of Vietnam. For his part, Carrefour France CEO Julien Munch emphasized that introducing international products, including Vietnam, is one of the group's priorities: "The event is an opportunity for the French people to discover more new products and also an opportunity to satisfy the culinary passion of the people here. Vietnamese cuisine, cuisine with a strong Asian flavor, is always warmly welcomed by our customers."

Coming to this “Vietnamese Goods Week”, visitors will be able to explore photo exhibitions of scenic spots, enjoy art performances and experience a culinary village with many typical Vietnamese products throughout the commercial center.

“This is also the first time an event has been expanded beyond the Carrefour hypermarket and held throughout the Collégien shopping mall, one of the largest shopping malls in the satellite city of Paris. French consumers not only come to the supermarket but also explore the cultural space, travel on-site to Vietnam, and enter a cozy Vietnamese space with traditional beauty,” said Mr. Vu Anh Son, Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in France. For Mr. André Yuste, Mayor of Lognes, the initiative to organize a Vietnamese goods week at the Carrefour supermarket chain is a good opportunity to promote Vietnamese culinary culture to local people: “Our city has a very developed Asian community with the majority of people having Vietnamese, Lao and Cambodian origins. Therefore, I fully support this event because cuisine is the best way to connect local people and explore cultures”. One of the highlights of this event is the participation of the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association. The President of the Association directly attended and introduced typical spice products, the most prominent of which is pepper, a key export item of Vietnam. In addition, 10 Vietnamese businesses participating in the event also introduced to French consumers typical and quality products such as dragon fruit, mango, grapefruit, and processed foods such as fish sauce, pho, vermicelli, and cashew nuts. “There are many choices in the Vietnamese goods area. With products such as vermicelli, mushrooms, sauces, etc., we have been able to complete many dishes with a strong Vietnamese flavor with your ingredients,” said Coralie Bellérophon, a French customer. “Vietnamese Goods Week” is not only an opportunity to introduce and promote Vietnamese products in French supermarkets, but also an opportunity to expand and penetrate other markets and regions in Europe.
