Recalling the 15 years since the founding of Newton High School, the dedicated and creative teacher Le Thi Bich Dung couldn't help but feel proud, calling it a journey of dreams.
A young, high-achieving school.
In recent years, Hanoi's education sector has witnessed the emergence of a private school that is only 15 years old but already boasts an enviable track record.
Specifically, recently, during the selection process for the Hanoi team to compete at the national level, for the first time, a private school had students selected in both Mathematics and Physics.
It's rare for a non-specialized school to have even one student selected, but Newton School has had four students on the Math team and one student on the Physics team. This is an exceptional achievement that Newton School has brought to the private school scene.

At the 2024 International Mathematics and Science Olympiad (IMSO 2024), Newton School had 9 students participating, and they excelled, winning all 9 medals: 4 Gold, 4 Silver, and 1 Bronze. Furthermore, Newton is the only private school with 2 out of 6 students selected for the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) in December 2024.

The outstanding achievements of Newton School students in the aforementioned prestigious international intellectual competitions are gradually affirming Newton as an environment where students are given the best conditions for holistic development.
The journey of a dedicated teacher in building her school.
Ms. Le Thi Bich Dung, Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Newton Inter-level School, despite being nearly 70 years old, remains dedicated and passionate about the noble cause of educating future generations.
Ms. Dung graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Hanoi in 1981. In her younger years, she spent 13 consecutive years as a lecturer teaching advanced mathematics and programming to students at the University of Mining and Geology.

After that, Ms. Dung spent 12 years studying and working abroad. Wanting to contribute to her homeland, she returned to Vietnam and founded Newton School.
Looking back on Newton School's 15-year journey, Ms. Dung recalls the year 2008, calling it the most memorable milestone of her life when she reunited with her former teacher, Mr. Tran Van Nhung (former Deputy Minister of Education and Training).
“When I met Mr. Nhung again, he advised me to open a high school to bring the best practices from abroad to Vietnam. Following his advice, I founded Newton School with Mr. Tran Van Nhung as its head,” Ms. Dung recalled.

In its first year, the school enrolled 3 high school classes, with a total of only 70 students: 45 tenth-grade students divided into 3 classes of 15 students each; 1 middle school class with 14 students; and the remaining 11 students in first grade.
"Currently, we have over 8,400 students across our four campuses," teacher Le Thi Bich Dung informed.

According to Ms. Dung, to build a good educational environment, it is necessary to address three of the most challenging factors: Firstly, creating an environment that fosters students' potential. Secondly, employing advanced teaching methods, and finally, having adequate modern teaching equipment. The school must strive to develop all three of these factors.
"We are always thinking about how to ensure our children are well-behaved, understand their lessons, are equipped with adequate learning resources, and enjoy going to school. To achieve this, we must innovate and ensure that teaching is closely linked to the development of society."
"If we stand still, we're falling behind, so we must always explore and grasp the development trends of society to stay ahead and strongly apply the scientific achievements of society to teaching," Ms. Dung shared.
From the very beginning of the school's establishment, teacher Le Thi Bich Dung coined the slogan for Newton School: "Every student is a future leader," reflecting her deepest aspiration.
Imbued with core educational principles and constantly striving to create the best possible educational environment for her students, Ms. Dung always aims to build an inspiring school where every teacher is a great mentor, guiding and passing on the flame of passion to their students.
Students will live and learn with all the positive energy unleashed by the inspiration spread by their teachers, starting from simple, heartwarming things.
Facilities and educational activities are visible factors that help identify the quality of a modern educational environment.
With her passion for her profession and the achievements Newton School has made in contributing to educational innovation and improvement over the past years, in November 2023, teacher Le Thi Bich Dung was honored to receive a commendation from the Minister of Education and Training and a certificate of merit from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training at the age of 65 with the title "Dedicated and Creative Teacher".
The Newton School System currently has 4 campuses with a total of 8,450 students, including 4,550 primary school students, 2,280 secondary school students, and approximately 1,600 high school students.
