Thanks to her discipline, perseverance, and deadlifting exercises, Adele lost 45 kg in just over a year.
Adele first gained attention when she revealed her 45kg weight loss journey in 2019. Since then, the 34-year-old singer has continuously shared strategies that helped her achieve her ideal weight and overcome anxiety and stress. Without using any "magic potions" or quick weight-loss methods, Adele has maintained her toned physique for many years by consistently lifting weights and exercising diligently.
According to Vogue , during the initial period of Covid-19 quarantine, Adele exercised three times a day. She lifted weights in the morning, followed by hiking and boxing in the afternoon. Adele trained with a personal trainer at the gym to maximize intensity.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the famous American talk show host, Adele revealed that she practices deadlifting. This is a compound exercise that helps strengthen and develop muscles. The exerciser uses a barbell and lifts it off the ground at hip level. Deadlifts typically help develop muscle groups such as the glutes, thighs, shoulders, back, and chest. Adele started with 4.5 kg, then gradually increased to 77 kg and maintained that weight.
"I train like an athlete, and I enjoy it," the "Rolling In The Deep" singer shared.
Adele also denied all rumors that she lost weight through dieting. She did not intermittent fast, nor did she use any quick-fix weight-loss drugs. In fact, Adele even ate more than before because high-intensity workouts required additional protein and energy.

Adele also practices pilates. This is a moderate-intensity exercise method aimed at building muscle, maintaining a fit physique, and improving flexibility.
Pilates exercises tend to focus on the core and have a positive impact on other parts of the body. Pilates can be practiced with or without equipment, but ensure the movements are slow and precise. This method helps to tone the core, improve flexibility, and increase strength.
Exercise has also helped improve Adele's mental health. For her, maintaining a healthy lifestyle isn't just about achieving her desired weight. "Whenever I'm anxious, exercising helps me feel better," she says.
Previously, the owner of the hit song "Hello" admitted that her anxiety stemmed from her failed marriage. After the divorce, her emotions seemed to become completely numb. Adele often felt confused because she couldn't control her body.
To overcome negative emotions, she turned to the gym and put her trust in her trainer. Daily exercise instilled discipline in Adele, helping her fill empty schedules with quality time. Adele's goal was to become stronger both physically and mentally.
Another secret to Adele's positive attitude while losing weight is maintaining a positive body image. "People talked about my body for 12 years. They talked about it a lot before I lost weight. But I didn't care. I can be confident with any body shape," she said.
