Singer Adele's 45 kg weight loss journey

Thanks to discipline, perseverance and deadlifting exercises, Adele lost 45 kg in just over a year.

Adele first made headlines when she revealed her 45kg weight loss process in 2019. Since then, the 34-year-old singer has continued to share strategies that helped her achieve her ideal weight and escape anxiety and stress. Without using any "miracle drugs" or quick weight loss methods, Adele has maintained her slim figure for many years by constantly lifting weights and persistently exercising.

According to Vogue , during the early days of Covid-19 isolation, Adele worked out three times a day. She lifted weights in the morning, then went hiking and boxed in the afternoon. Adele worked with a personal trainer at the gym to maximize the intensity.

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, a famous American TV host, Adele said she practices deadlifting. This is a complex exercise that helps strengthen and develop muscles. The practitioner uses a barbell, lifting it off the ground at hip level. Deadlifting exercises often help develop muscle groups such as the buttocks, thighs, shoulders, back and chest. Adele started with a 4.5 kg weight, then gradually increased it to 77 kg and maintained it at this level.

"I train like an athlete, and I love it," the Rolling In The Deep singer shared.

Adele also confirmed that all the rumors that she lost weight by dieting are false. She does not fast intermittently or use fast weight loss pills. Adele even eats more than before because high-intensity exercises require additional protein and energy.

Adele also does pilates, a moderate-intensity exercise that aims to build muscle, maintain a healthy body shape and improve flexibility.

Pilates movements tend to focus on the core and work other areas of the body. Pilates can be done with or without equipment, but make sure the movements are slow and precise. It helps to tone the core, improve flexibility and build strength.

Exercise also helps Adele's mental health. For her, living a healthy lifestyle is about more than just achieving her desired weight. "Whenever I'm feeling anxious, exercise helps me feel better," she says.

Previously, the Hello hitmaker admitted that her anxiety stemmed from her broken marriage. After the divorce, her emotions seemed completely numb. Adele often felt confused because she could not control her body.

To overcome negative emotions, she joined the gym and trusted her trainer. Exercising every day gave Adele discipline, allowing her to fill her empty schedule with quality time. Adele's goal was to become stronger both physically and mentally.

Another secret to Adele's mental health while losing weight is staying body positive. "People have been talking about my body for 12 years. They talked about it a lot before I lost weight. But I don't care. I can be confident in any body shape," she says.
